Re: List of rack extensions and their CPU usage
No, I had a subtractor and then chained the FXs. But it is well possible that chaining uses more CPU than single FX as you did it.

Re: List of rack extensions and their CPU usage
Interesting. Thanks. It's good to see that we have got similar results. The TSAR-1R is quite disappointing isn't it. It sounds great so I have it one a single send channel, but its high toll puts me off using it as an insert. You've also reminded me to dig back into the PX7, which I do have but hav...

Re: List of rack extensions and their CPU usage
I made something similiar some months ago. On each instance of a device I did a different preset to average it out. Number of instances till stoping playback. On each synth instance I also had a matrix running: 12 Softube TSAR-1R 15 Etch Red 16 DC-9 Overdrive 18 T2 Phaser 20 C1-L1 20 Steerpike 22 DC...

How it is a weakness of Reason if you just can buy a RE that does what you need?

Re: Is it me or....
I think AutoArp is more advanced than the player device, horrible UI though. I like that it has about 70 scales. These obscure scales inspire my creativity, e.g. Japanese Iwato, Arabic or Insen. And you can change settings (inversion, sus, aug, ...) for each chord in a scale seperatly. But with the ...

(Electronic) MIDI Sans Frontières (Squarepusher collab)
Check this out: http://www.squarepusher.net wants people to collaborate for a political statement (brexit). He made a track and hosted the stems, midi and notation to download and you can make out of it what you want. Here is my take on it: https://soundcloud.com/aeon_eternal/midi-sans-frontieres Wo...

Kong Pitch
In Kong I want to transpose a sample in C to G flat. There is either the pitch offset knob ranging fron -120 to 120 or on the Nano there is -1200% to 1200%. Neither of them I know what they do. If I set the pitch offset to 12, would then the sample be an octave higher and from C to G flat I would se...

Re: Dual Core I7 Mac- Powerful enough to run Reason 9?
It really depends on what synths and effects you are using. With stock instruments you do not have to worry and yes most romplers do not need much CPU. Soft synths that are very light on CPU are PX7, Ammo and Redominator. Synths like Parsec, Antidote and Monopoly need rather more CPU. Same with effe...

Re: What can I do about DSP load?
Bounce tracks. Lower polyphony if not needed. Set to low resolution on device if available. Use less fx (sometimes you just dont here a difference). Use build in devices before RE. Leave mastering stuff (EQ, filtering mastering at all) to a later stage. Use samples instead of synths. Route to a bus...

Re: Requiring a restart to change themes is kinda lame.
I heard most of the programmers are busy working on Combinator Mk2 that is why they had not enough man power for implenteing themes properly. At least that is what I hope.

Re: Reason 9: Which theme do you preffer ?
Dark and blue are not yet carved out it seems. You cannot just change the background color and leave most of the rest as it is. For example the red color of the notes conflicts with the dark grey. Doesn't work for me, but I like the default theme best anyways.

Re: Players
The visual representation on the left side of Scales & Chords is irritating to me. I think they should have made the white and black keys the same or almost the same color. Now with 4 colors and even an extra shadow for the black keys I cannot see anything what belongs to the scale and what not. May...

Soundbank Location Mac
Just installed Reason 9 and I wondered why the Orkester Soundbank is again in the Reason program folder, talking of Mac here. I now have two Orkester, the other one in the Library/Application Support. Even stranger there I have besides the 8 and 9 Factory Sound Bank a third one for Reason Essentials...

I mean has anyone ever used ESD? I do not see any value in this RE, other might do, but I would not call it a drum synth if you compare it to Kong.

Re: whats the most versatile drum synth RE?
EDS for RE but if I think kong still the king for making drums in reason by using its drum modelling and bouncing reloading reprocessing through its self it has almost anything for making drums when you do the reprocess thing with it. EDS is more like a sample player and not a synthesizer where you...

Re: whats the most versatile drum synth RE?
I think there is no dedicated drum synth as RE besides BDPunch which is mostly for Kicks, but you can also make Hats and Snares, etc.
If there would be a real drum synth I would buy it.

Re: So how much have you spent on REs and refills?
awwww....$3647 for REs, I am shocked, I had no idea. I guessed about $1500, but it is more than double that. But I am proud I did not buy anything at the last sale, but too bad there are new nice synths coming in the future. I have to say there are only one or two REs I bought that I do not use, exc...
