Re: What is the lack of REASON?
I've been at sessions using protools Logic or live and I didn't like the workflow.
I'm sure I am prejudiced
Yet each of you would not be on this forum if you didn't think
Reason was unique.

Re: What is the lack of REASON?
Reason has everything you need to create an amazing track in one program. Period
The only thing lacking is the graphic resolution.
I'm still on a 22 inch monitor but I would love to be able to have larger screen with clean resolution,
maybe even projecting it on the wall.,

Re: Recent trend in pop lead vocals and reverb
Thank You All for all the insightful contributions Where the vocal sits in a MIX is completely subjective: there are no rules. I tried to find the perfect example, but I hear it everywhere, The Weekend I was just inquiring as a vocal effect that seemed ultra present,..while reverberating 5 Decades a...

Re: Presets vs/ Programming Your own sounds
Thanks Everyone for the thoughtful responses. I wanted to add that in my initial posting comment when I said "ignoring presets is ego" i was talking to myself as well as others who focus too much on creating that new amazing patch and not a great track. I have programmed great synth sounds from scra...

Presets vs/ Programming Your own sounds
Ignoring presets is ego Are you going to program every sound yourself? I look at it like a painter with a palette of colors applying a Synchronous to a Grain preset creates a new sound Reason has tone sources you can imagine into an opus Its like cooking I dint' have to invent asparagus yellow peppe...

Recent trend in pop lead vocals and reverb
Hi everybody. I've noticed a trend of vocal reverb on pop hits of late. The vocal seems upfront and present with the reverb highly present yet not muddying up the mix My guess they record the Reverb vocal and the Original on different tracks. But I tried that and experimented with beloved RV7000 hal...

Vocoder preset combinator in Reason effects Banks
I want to vocode Humana choirs. I've successfully created vocoder in reason before, but I forgot how to patch it and want a great preset that I can just plug in a new carrier. For example I want the carrier of pitch to be Humana with the modulation consonants of my vocalmy vocal track Yes I can lear...

Guitar feedback and Kuassa fuzz and wah trial
We've had discussions here about creating feedback within the program. Tonight I downloaded trial of the Kuassa Fuzz and wah units and ran them through through a default vermilion amp. Very cool emulations of Big Muff and crybaby. I'm sold It squealed well in the harmonic range to give my Gilmore I'...

Re: How to put each Drum part on differant channel.
Thanks for the responses. Yes I see it in F8 when I collapse the tabs.
And yes it is problematic doing with reason Drum refill and the SSl.
But this still helps.

Thanks but that does not work, there is no option for that in F8 with the midi track selected.

How to put each Drum part on differant channel.
I compose my Rhythm section using some of the Amazing sounds in Reason Drum Kits and Reason Bass. Great refills from prop heads that still. are the best sounding emulations of real drums and bass I like to work in lanes and then join the lanes. My question is I remember there is a short cut to "Expl...

Re: Selig Color EQ evaluation, My subscription
Wow Giles GOOD JOB! i downloaded the combinator you made above and got to play my EQ with my keyboard. Very Amazing. Yes a Singular Frquency realm but makes me undestand the concept of playing the EQ with your keyboard or midi. By the way Your explanation of frequency and octaves was stellar in it's...

Re: Selig Color EQ evaluation, My subscription
Selig : The relationship of pitch to frequency is VERY important to understand IMO, and it took me a while when I was first learning about audio to make this connection. We hear each octave equally, but it's actually a doubling of frequency. Meaning that the first octave we hear (20-40 Hz) only cove...

Yes the ID eight is great for a lot of reasons I found a high hat in there that I use on several songs it's very thin crisp but still sounds real and I couldn't find anything like it in this other stock sounds

Thank you all for responding ( I still don't understand why we are supposed to post all the text from previous poster when we're all on the same thread, it's redundant and creates clutter but that's another topic.) Selig Color EQ evaluation, My subscription
My subscription to RE's is great I’ve been trying to get my head around Seligs Color Eq and have some questions I love the way it is laid out because I am a visual inclined which is why I chose Reason in the 1st place. I upgraded from 6 to 10 last year and the built in Graphic eq has changed my mixe...

In Pitch Edit Mode is it possible to merge pitch slices?
I'm working on refining some vocals. In one of the videos on the topic they took they took the large mountains and valley of a pitch slice and razor bladed them to be come their own event, because the software identified it as drift rather a seperate note. I like this approach. but my question is af...

Re: In Audio editing mode, delete or change Db of a clip?
Selig said "You can delete slice markers, or cut on slices to create a new clip based on slice markers and then change the dB level of that new clip. Is that what you’re asking about?". I know how to change the volume of a wave form by isolating it in the audio track display. I was wondering if I co...

Re: What makes Reason so inspiring?
Reason is inspiring because of it's limits. And the fact that it does not crash and is solid and stable. The programming is always solid Caveat: I don't use VST (the addition of Vst's are a whole other hornets nest that Prop heads were extremely reluctant to take on From what I read here If you want...
