It's no problem of Soundcloud. In fact this demo is so stupidly loud that it will never sound good. I hear it on some pretty cheap PC speakers ATM, and it distorts like hell !TritoneAddiction wrote:or for worse sound quality on Soundcloud

Re: What is the first album you ever bought?
The first album I ever bought was Beatles "Magical Mystery Tour". It was in 1980 after John Lennon was shot. TV was full with documentaries about the Beatles, and the song I liked most was "Strawberry Fields Forever" – cause of the Mellotron ;) . https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/85/TheBea...

Re: Anyone know how to do this effect?
There is actually nothing to "filter" in a sine wave ;) , but with the pitch you nailed it! Here's my attempt using Thor... sweep down.zip I used a triangle wave instead of the sine to provide a little bit more harmonics. I also got the impression that there's some detuning or chorus at the and, so ...

Re: Synth design standards EVERY re synth should apply
What I missed in several synths lately: keyboard track for the filter! I think it's the most underestimated parameter ever! Damn, it's cool to fine-tune the sound for low and high notes separately, so why the heck do new developers skip this feature that was helpful for decades???

Re: Song Starter Template - What do you use ?
Over the years I refined my setup with the REs available ;) ... Mastering? Yes, it's part of my template of course, because sooner or later I need it, and it would be stupid to build it again each time. It's pretty basic: SSL's master compressor sidechained (to filter out low frequencies) and Ozone....

Re: With RV7000mkII, what reverbs do I still need?
I think that Rob Papen's reverb is fantastic. Thanks...for what? Well, I don't know eXode's reason, but mine is this: RPVerb is the most flexible reverb in Reason I think. It provides options that other reverbs don't offer. For instance you get independent controls for every aspect of reverb: early...

And I hate HipHop. But I respect people who produce HipHop. But this guy is definitely doing a disservice to all producers and fans of the whole genre!

Sampling KRAFTWERK - a law case
Just read this at german periodical site spiegel.de http://www.spiegel.de/kultur/musik/bundesverfassungsgericht-moses-pelham-gegen-kraftwerk-a-1064607.html . I'll try to translate it in short: It's just a 2 second long rhythm, but it keeps courts busy for a decade now: on one side are the musical pi...

I will say that he can't play the theremin very well and that is were the showy crap comes in. plenty of synth patches that will emulate that sound so no good reason for it. Agree. I saw JMJ live a few years ago, and the Theremin thing was so shitty  ... He'd better use Moog's Theremini in th...

As music is not my only hobby it can take up to one year to finish a song . I'm in vacation now, but having started to play Sims 4 some weeks ago I'm not sure if I find the time to finish the song I started in october last year .

Re: Why do you use Propellerhead?
I used Logic Audio in the pre-Apple days. One day my old G3 Mac broke down and I bought an iBook (the white one). As my Logic used a dongle connected to the keyboard port I couldn't use it with the iBook which had USB only. I didn't like to spend the extra fee to get a USB dongle and so I stopped ma...

Re: REs that make excellent use of collapsed/folded view:
Interesting discussion, and one worth noting for future developers :) I'd just like to point out, in the interests of fairness to Softube, that not all software companies will have in-house GUI designers/developers, particularly when the 3D asset format is not the standard bread and butter for the ...

Re: Zero Hybrid Synthesizer is in the shop!
When I look at ZERO hybrid (a really cool synth with a lot of potential), and Oberon (another cool synth with a lot of potential), I have to select an envelope, change the envelope, move to the next envelope change that too, move to another envelope and so on. Yeah, that's another interesting point...

And BTW, after testing Oberon, Zero and Ochen K's forthcoming new synth I can say, that I'm definitely no friend of grafically controlled envelopes.. That's interesting, as I'm on the opposite side of this experience. For me, graphically controlled envelopes make it easier for me to "see" what I'm ...

Unfortunately I'm not the target group :( . I prefer FM4 'cause it's so easy to use. Even PX7 is too complex for me! I think with this one it is much easier to achieve a great sound than PX7. Agree. It can probably create great sounds without ever touching the FM matrix, 'cause it already gives a l...
