Re: Reason 9.5 input/output dilemma.
Thanks And it is super nice to see someone thinking it out visually to bring focus and allow an informed dialog. The logic seems good to me. I noted that your current mixer is USB, will that not work as an Audio Interface with ASIO Drivers? For USB Audio Interfaces, everyone is likely to say what th...

Yes, correct you access/chain them via Automation in the main Reason Sequencer (or wherever you choose to sequence).

Re: reasonrack instrument midi output
Correct, RRP does not output MIDI right now - later updates maybe.
Save that setup and open it in the Reason DAW. You can then print those notes to MIDI (top-right on the Player) and export that MIDI File and import to Reaper.

You can't. They are part of the same install - no doubt use the same code libraries. Reinstall Reason 12 and the RRP will be back -even if only as a Demo

So we need to VST DaVinci into Reason DAW and then VST RRP into DaVinci. What could possibly go wrong!!

Re: Why embracing "workarounds" might be making us better music makers
I tweak everything. EVERYTHING. Shoes, trousers, my car, dive gear, phone, comp, os, house...everything. I actually do it (partially) for a living. I’ll even tweak and edit other peoples music because a sound or a mix irritates me so much. And of course, I can. I’ve got the skill. But over time it ...

Re: Reason 9.5 input/output dilemma.
Seeing it is probably well and truly time you had a proper USB Audio Interface, I think that is the answer. It gives you real ASIO and routing audio in/out can be tidier overall. HDMI does carry audio but it was just never designed for DAW-style audio. It could be very latent and people wouldn't rea...

Re: redrum scroll notes not showing in edit mode
Sounds like Reason 12 Change a zoom size and they will probably come back. Funny thin gis that since having R12 on-board, I have some similar things in R11 as well like sometimes heavily zooming in Audio will make it disappear both visually and from playback. Zoom out a bit and bing! it is back. Hop...

Re: Drum VST - note lanes to individual mix channels?
I have used MT a few times. It is pretty cool and versatile https://youtu.be/0Cb5T1tkPxM?t=3232 Hmmm, the extracted Mix Channels are Audio and not MIDI. There is one VST so I am going with a No for MIDI Seq Track per head. However, you can hit the Plus and make a new MIDI Lane within the MT Track fo...

Re: Why embracing "workarounds" might be making us better music makers
I have been preaching the concept of 'making the most of what is there already' instead of making the mistake of thinking that creativity arrives when there are no obstacles. This leads only to frustrations, then complaining, which is the complete opposite of creativity. Creativity says, this is wha...

Thanks Popey I must say (esp seeing this sat silent for a week) that I am surprised at the enthusiasm for this. I am happy to see it. The album itself is mostly in-the-can but on-hold for a month or three as someone is doing a remix of one of the tracks and I would rather hold for them to time-align...

Re: how about a trance lead generator?
Ummm, can't that just be done with Scales & Chords plus Aligater? Perhaps I miss something seeing Trance seems so simple musically to me??? How would a Player exceed what is already there for trance nuts whilst still adding something for non-Trance average people (seeing BLG is total meh for me - I'...

Re: About Improving Reason's Internal DAW
To be fair Reason as a DAW already has Blocks which are somewhat unique as an overall proposition. Something I love about Reason as a total DAW is the simplicity and Linearity (as in not Patterns unless you want to play Blocks) along with the integration that exceeds most other DAWs. Things like bei...

Aah the nature of being a teenager; I am the only one having a feeling . I would assume that was a bit long for common sense. Much over 5 mins may make little sense. You might need to put things that long into Audacity or the like.

Re: How is this technique called?
Definitely Portamento. They are probably automating the Porta timing. OR have used an Equal Rate option so the further the distance between notes the longer the slide (most synths now use Equal Time as it is mostly neater).

(Blues) Tony Murphy - The Answer To Everything
This is my second song with Tony Murphy who comes to my mixing space with a backing track (scraped of YouTube) and a page of lyrics. We close it all on up and do a few takes (while sweating in sub-tropical heat). https://youtu.be/kPahME0t9TU This time I pushed Tony for some Soul style backings too. ...

Re: (80s Classic Cover): Bette Davis Eyes
Ooh that's a bold choice. Kim is a powerful vocalist. You'll be trying to outdo Laura Branigan next week!!! As noted your vocal is a bit hidden behind the mix - and I think tuning, which may not be the best solution as it makes you seem to retire from the fray. Your voice isn't the strongest but you...
