Re: How you make glitch sounds
Like loque said, as far as audio destruction goes there's really no end. I like to overly distort or bitcrush foley samples, bounce em, stretch em waaaay too far, then add really fast volume modulation. For scratches, I used to make some almost believable turntable stuff by loading vocals into Rex/n...

I gotta say I've been using these a whole bunch lately. Great way to instantly turn anything into sfx , atmospheres, or just add otherworldly character. Even the wav. files alone make fantastic sweeps and fx. I'm really impressed, great job!

(pop) Delta P - Pale Male
I wanted to try and make a moombahton pop song in the vein of DJ Snake and Major Lazer but with my own spin. If anyone thinks they might be able to contribute some vocals let me know.

Re: (dubstep) Look - Pale Male
If I got super nit-picky about it... which I'm gonna (duh)... the compression to bring that MONSTROUS kick out is clean and fast, but it sounds like it hits the horn stabs just a cooch hair too hard (to me). Maybe throw those on a different compression channel and minimize it a little? Nitpicking i...

I'm in! This sounds fun.
Whats the feeling about free RE's, i.e. the multi-band splitter or mid-side device? I'll make some stuff assuming it's not allowed for now.

This comes with the cheapest version of FL Studio. 99$
I've watched people do some really cool things with this in a matter of seconds, and doesn't seem to have too much of a learning curve. Plus you get another DAW.

Re: Expanse 1.1 Update in the Shop!
Thanks for the quick reply, VHS! I'll take a look at those distortion types and see if I can get the sound I'm looking for. Having fun playing with this thing. 2.I'm sure they would love to have drop downs for wavetables, but it seems they aren't able to at this time due to SDK restrictions. Might ...

Re: Expanse 1.1 Update in the Shop!
1. Does anyone know if they're adding bitcrushing to the effects chain at a later point? I know I can send the dry audio into another RE (e.g. Decimort) and then run it into a second eXpanse to get the effects chain, but it kind of takes away the "in the box" advantage of using this synth if I have...

Re: (Art pop?) Vocals and synths
I LOVE this. Those lyrics were great and your voice is fantastic. You could maybe add some reverb on the vocals or a few other things, but honestly, I think it sounds very personal and well mixed as is. . That said, I would love to have a shot at remixing this, maybe put the vocals in a different co...

Re: (Brostep) E v S - Pale Male
i do have a feeling these tracks lack a bit of bass presence in the lower (sub) frequencies. Do you any change mix in a small room? This might explain why the bass is actually lower than you perceive while mixing (just a thought). I work in headphones so you're very right about bass perception :oop...

Re: (Brostep) E v S - Pale Male
I always like your productions a lot. Mix seems pretty good to me. The stereo elements could be done differently (some elements in the drop have more spread compared to others I think). That said, I love the Dennis Rodman track. I want a copy of it, so good! Sepcifically the first drop right? I hea...

The intro and middle are comprised of Navi Retlav presets and internet vocals, the drops are expanse and serum eating each-other.
I have a shitty setup so any feedback about the mix (i.e. bass level, overly sharp highs) is highly appreciated.

Re: Deadmau5 Masterclass: He teaches Electronic Music electronic Production (Winter 2016)
LOL I didn't say kids...never too old to start a new venture. If a sixty year old lady can get into track and field then my grandma can start producing EDM. Maybe I should hook her up with Deadmau5. As far as "kids" are concerned, there are plenty of teens/young adults out there who are way too con...

Makes me think of the folks who are more concerned with sound design than storytelling with their complextro wobble bass lines and how they try to sound like their favorite a...
