Re: Propellerheads Balance audio interface any uses now?

Win 10 works OK with Balance for me, sorry to hear you are having trouble. What are the symptoms ? Is it connected to USB 2 (or 3) and without a hub ? Balance does not like USB 3 and also USB 2 which is routed from a USB 3 connection (via any sort of external or internal hub). Guess you knew that al...

Re: How do you organise your Refills?

I file them under their source but I create shortcuts (I am a Windows user) to the ones I learn are useful. The shortcuts sit in folders with names such as Keyboards, Ethnic, Sound Effects and Synthesisers and within these are sub folders (eg Retro Organs and Acoustic Pianos and lie within Keyboards...

Re: Free Extensions Authorization.

That is not normal. You should only be requested for an Internet login if you have a trial underway or you are not authorised by another method. To be authorised you should either have your PC authorised (you are allowed one authorised PC per licence) or you should have have an ignition key in place...

Re: When Do You Think We Will See Reason 9?

What does this mean ? http://www.softphonics.com/home/4592117750 Travel down the page to the HARDWARE advert, note reference to Reason 9 (which is in white lettering and easy to miss). Do they know something we don't know about v9 ? Can't be far away if a developer is beginning its "run in" on a new...

Noooooooooooooooooooo, don't stop. I go here often to find out what I have missed and would certainly report any sale to you. So far I have been beaten every time by someone else but I WILL get my moment of glory one day, I WILL one day be the leader of this pack. Seriously though I value what you d...

Re: Does the GUI matter to you?

Sound, sound, sound is what's important to me. I've spent thousands on getting my sounds right and bad looks is not going to stop me. I will gladly put up with a little ugliness if 5 more people will listen to my music ! Of course I like things well designed and pretty. But good looks is just one of...

Re: Creme Amplifikation RE Demonstration

Trouble is there are a lot of EDM fans around here. Anyway, I'm old school and loved your demo. I bought Creme (surely pronounced CREM as in French for cream but what do I know) but have not got around to using it seriously. For me every guitar plugin and stomp box and amp and guitar has to be coaxe...

Re: Rack extension updates

Some people chose to look at individual updates and manage their update regime, the following procedure updates everything in one go and is the simplest way, especially for a beginner. For me I always update in one go and have never had a problem. One step update: Log onto your user account, select ...

Re: New Atlantis has consolidated. Several old products removed

http://nucleus-soundlab.com still sell some of their refills and in the UK they are cheaper than the Propellerhead sold equivalent (eg a $US19 refill vs a Euro19 refill) but that depends on exchange rates in your location obviously.

Re: :( sad face Kuassa creme :(

Aliasing, of course. That explains why I have to add a low pass filter. I thought it was me. Now I can Engineer around it like jfrichards and I'm happier to use a steep filter (which I normally avoid because of fear of phase issues).
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Re: English question: "the less" vs "less"

... and none of this is too far from our art - song making. Many songs use the same techniques as poetry, invented, or reinvented just for the moment, just for the impact, just for the effect. The hardest part of writing songs (or poetry) to me is that you are constrained in how much you can say wit...

Re: English question: "the less" vs "less"

This is written in archaic English by a romantic poet, 200 years ago. It was written in 1810 (or so) when language structures were different. We also no longer say "love not" which is in the same stanza. I can just remember the use of language such as this (the extra word "the") in my local dialect ...

Re: Making tracks louder

In my post I was offering a strategy to an OP who was asking for help, not advising experts who know more than me. Apparently I did not make that clear. I still argue that setting the levels of significant (not quiet) sounds in the region of -12 using the blue knob and with the sliders set at ~0 is ...

Re: Creating sheetmusic from Reason

I did an extensive comparison a few years ago and found Finale products to be hugely superior to any other at the time (for the specific task of converting Reason MIDI into sheet music). In particular it was better than Sibelius and Musescore at that time. Luckily they did a cut down version of thei...

You're not missing the little blue level control at the top of the channel strips are you ? I recommend this video for understanding signal levels in a DAW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kT5Nw-ZoEnE The parent site is being reconstructed at this moment (or so it says) but I also recommend his vide...
