Re: Argonaut Synthesizer is in the shop
No, no, no. You didn't offend me but my defensive reaction is that we have very few developers who keep the toys coming and i think petty complaints run them away as a "you can't satisfy everybody" or i tried and I'm done" attitude. How many developers have one or two rack extensions in the shop. H...

Re: Argonaut Synthesizer is in the shop
what's the main appeal of this? the only unique thing I see is the "mangle" knob, which I'm guessing is a distortion/waveshaper? but not a very flexible one? Skrock's business model definitely seems to be quantity over quality. I'm really not a fan, but if there's other people who get inspiration o...

I'm not impressed. Maybe I'm missing something but i see nothing special about this. I'm gonna keep messing with it. You are missing nothing. Its nothing like Serum. Its no where close to Serums level. I still like Expanse though. On these forums because of the fan boy nature of the threads and bec...

TFW the product description specifically says it uses a lot of CPU, and people are still confused that it uses a lot of CPU

Re: SERUM synthesizer
so I don't have Expanse, but I tried this test with Antidote and Zero. results are below. looks like Zero is the best for this particular aliasing and high-end test. since Blamsoft also makes Expanse, I can only assume that is just as clean! Re: SERUM synthesizer
AFAIK, you can't computer infinite harmonics, so a high cut is always done. Should also be present in Thor, but, maybe it's at a higher frequency. What some synths also do, when they feature unison on oscillator level, is that there is a pitch dependant high cut. Urs from u-he explains it here: htt...

Get Blamsoft Hyperwave here -- https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/expanse-hyperwave-synthesizer/ It is a fantastic synth and will import Serum wavetables. It is the closest thing to having Serum in Reason. can you show the spectrum of Expanse Hyperwave Synthesizer please ?? This one is From Par...

Re: Fresh Mixfood Orange V2 !
i think it looks more fun and unique than it did before. i can see why people wouldn't like it, but i don't really have an aversion to bright colors that much. as long as the entire DAW doesn't become orange I'm good.

I also like the 202 Exciter. to me, any exciter gets harsh if you use it improperly. but it's fine for adding a slight tinge of brightness that can't be achieved with just EQ.

I really hope they implement a shift+up or ctrl+up hotkey to transpose octaves.

Re: What do you think about this? (about Parsec 2)
By the way, I'm still wondering if there is another update of Parsec in the making with sample/wavetable loading. This would be very nice. As I understand it, and I could be wrong here, Parsec is neither a sample nor a wavetable based synth. It's additive, using sine waves to build waveforms. So I ...

Re: Reason Sound Quality
I don't think Reason has any particular sound. It's just that to get a big sound with Reason you have to work way more hard to get it right while in most other daw's you get some big sounds directly out of the box. That's i think a reason too why most people are turning their back to Reason and thi...

Re: Does the free Wbl3001 Dispositif Pour Contact Premier RE only work in a combinator?
Right click the device 'create track for Wbl3001' and then use your MIDI / sequencer lane to pug in notes It's an "instrument" though that has a track created when it itself is created. Works right out of the box. So not sure what the problem is here... ok. apparently this isn't what i'm thinking i...

Re: Making tracks louder
Well, at 1:02 we see a main mixer peaking at above 0db. The section from 3:24 to 4:01 then talks about bit depth, and I'm not sure whether this invalidates some of what was discussed earlier in this thread. If Reason has this "64 bits" capability that he talks about (around 4:11), then why aim to c...

Re: POLL: What Version are you using in March 2017 ?
still on Reason 8. I was actually excited for 9 and even voted that I would buy it in a poll, but once it actually released my hype died down. and at this point I now feel like I should wait for 10 and buy both at once (first time doing that since I joined at Reason 6)

Re: Ozone Maximizer or M-Classs?
I've done a lot of back and forth comparisons, and IMO Ozone is the best for preserving the source material while getting more loudness out of it. at least based on what I make. I feel like Onyx preserves transients well, but on my material, this isn't a desired effect. it takes drums that sound "pu...

Re: What's the best way to get a warm sound in Reason using Reason effects?
is there some sort of saturation device that produces even harmonics only? and, would that even sound good or "warm" like people say? or would it just sound like you're adding octaves to everything? I often see the odd & even harmonics debate come up but never heard direct comparisons to really unde...

maybe like 5% tops. there's a lot of cheesy sounding patches in the default FSB. I can't speak for Reason 9 cause I haven't heard them since the beta, but I remember them being better.

it could be useful as a creative effect, I'd love to hear how it sounds, but yeah ideally it wouldn't be proportional
