Re: Missing Instrument from Rack
what are you trying to communicate here ? I'm really not interested in rude or smart alec internet strangers. If you can be online all the time then good for you, but my creative computer is not online. I dont have home internet. My computer does not have wifi and I dont have a very big data plan. ...

No worries brosef
FWIW I tried PolyStep when it first came out and couldn't get to like it at all. Sequences is way more versatile

Re: Sequences vs Polystep Seq
I'm confused, are we talking here about PSQ 1684 or Polystep? Everyone keeps talking about Sequences vs "PSQ" but it says Sequences vs Polystep in the heading I'll put in another vote for Step, another really cool thing about it is that you can CV modulate the Offset parameter, which if you keep it ...

Re: What are your plans RE-wise for Black Friday?
BV-X I really like "intellectually", but I'm afraid whatever I run through it will have that distinct vocoder sound and that's not what is need at all in my music (trance, techno, etc.). I've to check some videos to make my mind about it. I use it a lot on on percussion & hi hats, the "vocoder soun...

Re: Waves TG Mastering Chain (And how to get it for $14)
Which RE is an alternative? With the Combinator 2, you can replicate this mastering chain with a few stock Reason devices, a couple of spider instances and a pair of jumper cables ;) You'd have to know what you were doing... the tape EQ and the compressor are very distinctive, the signal chain can ...

Re: What are your plans RE-wise for Black Friday?
Any other creative FX ideas I should try? Something along the lines of Synchronus, Distillery, Ouroboros, Industrializer, FilterChain, Fritz, Beatchop, Glitch Effect, Polar, Echobode, etc. Do you have Fritz? That one’s a no brainer for creative FX. It does everything from woolly granular clouds to ...

Re: Rack Extension vs VST plug-in prices
I guess the answer depends on how people feel about the future of Reason. Optimists will likely go for cheaper REs, pessimists will want to stick with the free crossgrade option. I'm not sure which one applies to me. Probably I'd take a bet each way - i.e. wait until a sale to buy the RE, then go fo...

Re: "Black Friday Week" sales have begun in the Reason shop!
i impulse bought tribute for $9 during a prior sale, and it has since become one of my favorite filters. I barely ever even use the synth part of it. it's a powerful creative filter for me. not only does it have super steep, normal filters, it's got a bunch of fun creative ones. the spread knob is ...

Re: What are your plans RE-wise for Black Friday?
Grabbed Amalgam, SineSynth, DrumSyn, SYNR and ES400. Very happy, but the exchange rates are a killer - that lot set me back $209 US dollars, which is fucking $320 in Australian rupees
I'd like to pick up ES101 as well, but it can wait until the next sale

Ouroboros is on sale again 😊 Really didn't expect it to be considering ekss recently had a Halloween sale so this has made my day. Very happy to see Ekss Sounds back on sale. ES400 for 25 bucks! Definitely picking that up, along with a few other instruments I didn't grab over Halloween. I'm loving ...

Re: What’s your decade?
it's also when I learned to appreciate electronic music, and started branching out into jazz, folk, downtempo, and generally less angry music. still love that stuff, but my palate changed much--for the better--a bit beyond my teens and early 20s. I suspect that younger generations are going to be a...

Re: What’s your decade?
Massive Attack really hit their stride - Mezzanine is still as gob-smacking as the day it came out. Air freshened things up at the end of the decade (Stereolab was too noodly for me) I loved Stereolab in the early 90s when they were doing their low-fi drone/krautrock stuff, they just had a great so...

Interesting... unlike previous BF Waves freebies, this one requires you to wait for an email on Nov 24 letting you know that the "plugin request period" has begun, at which point you put in your bid for one of the 10,000 free licenses. Cue website meltdown

Re: What’s your decade?
A lot of music in the 90s seemed really uninspired and retrograde to me. Thousands of landfill rock bands trying to be Nirvana, the deterioration of 80s house music into an endless swamp of "Ibiza trance" and "chilled beats", annoying neo-hippies like Ben Harper and Jack Johnson being annoying neo-h...

Re: What’s your decade?
It's crazy when you think about the musical genres that hit their stride in the 70s Like the 60s definitely kicked the doors open in terms of license to experiment, but when you take away the greats - Beatles, Stones, Velvets, Kinks, Hendrix, a few others - you're left with a lot of derivative hippy...

What’s your decade?
Disclaimer: I know that dividing musical history into decades is dumb. But I’m interested in testing the theory that everyone’s favourite musical decade is the decade in which they “came of age”. Works for me - my second favourite decade is the one we’re presently in, but my #1 is the 70s Overall I’...

Re: I can finally listen to RHCP and Rush (AI Vocal remover)
It's funny because I'm currently on a bit of a Rush discovery journey - had never really paid them any attention, in fact I don't think I'd ever even heard them until a couple of years ago. But I got curious recently and started digging around in their back catalogue. Amazing band, monster riffs, Ge...

Very interested in picking up a few more Ekssperimental Sounds REs if they go on sale again. Amalgam, SineSynth, maybe TE Tape Echo as well. I'm trialling that one at the moment and can't believe how nice it sounds, even among the six billion delay plugins I already own it really stands out That's a...

I agree 100% with your post, but just a small nitpick: can we not do this? People who actually are on the autism spectrum don't always appreciate their identity being used as a casual synonym for "annoying" or "obsessive"

I really hope there's a Black Friday sale on Portatron. Can't believe I missed it at $29 earlier this year. It's one of those instruments that you don't think you need, then you try the demo because fuck it why not, then you can't live without it. So good
