R9 Favourites in R10

Are R9 favourites kept when doing an upgrade install of R10? It's Windows 7 if that matters!

Perfecting Synchronous

I would love to see it upgraded a bit with: 1) Frequency shift in the Dist section 2) Panning Knob in the global section (Dry/Wet Volume part). I know the SDK version at the time of release didn't have some of these features: 1) CTRL click reset for the MOD CTRL knobs 2) Key Synced/CV synced start s...

Re: Reasons Hidden Gems

Ok, i have this: Try adding more than one unit of the same device in row. It can be two scream 4's or two reverbs or whatever.
Also: I have started to study how certain devices make a good combo together. Example: Thor + Uhbik-A.
Right yeah.

Reasons Hidden Gems

So I use Kongs Rattler as a reverb in nearly all my tunes. Turn the Snare Tension to 127, tweak the Decay and Level and don't feed it to hot a signal! You can go from inside a tin can to inside a steel fortress, then stretch the metal with long decays whilst sweeping the tune knob ;) What you got? d...

Re: Aquios X4 vs Hydronexius

Aquios X4 doesn't have much in the way of bass and mono patches if that matters to you! I believe Hydronexius covers those bases/basses more comprehensively.

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason

Well this is a turn up for the books! Sort of dismissed the rumours as it seemed counter intuitive, having a more advanced established parallel plug-in format. Can't see VST devs making REs from here on in, unless some interesting innovations are possible in the future. Seems as though it will be a ...

Re: DNA Labs' Aquios X4 Workstation ROM Synthesizer Song Challenge

It's the programmed drums rendered to audio/rexed and played back through DR Octo Rex with rev and pitched slices. There's an FX chain on it to lush it up a bit, but yeah a comb filter (Synchronous) for the flange effect, love flanged/comb filtered drums! old-skool but works. Thanks for the kind wor...

Yeah the MClart is in serious need of superseding. A complete new limiter not an upgraded dogs dinner version.

Getting the best results from the M-Class Maximizer

At the mastering stage. So what are your top tips?..........get Ozone, Kratos, Onyx or Titan  Seems to work best for me with about 4db of gain reduction, beyond that it's quite noticeable. I've heard people rave about the soft clip, what used stand alone or in conjunction with the limiter secti...

Re: RE sampler

I would like to see on board pitch, time stretch and frequency shifting, with some kind of per grain macro's/quick editing and optional individual control of it would be nice! Yeah along with all the standard play head features. That's all easy ehh, now get on with it  Laid out in typical Props...

Re: What is your honest opinion about Facebook?

Also it bugs me the way everyone carefully curates their self-presentation (again, including me, although I do have the excuse that it's part of my job) so that the whole thing becomes an exercise in PR, and it just makes you feel like everyone in the world is a big full-of-shit phoney ^^^^This and...

Re: Favorite FM synth in Reason and why?

The feedback knob is different, it adjusts the feedback on the feedback operator. You know, PX7 has a feedback knob as well.
You're right it does. Slightly different operating range but yeah same thing.

Re: Non-Linear Warfare

Call it what you like it's age old divide and rule. The cult of individual, diversionary entertainment and misinformation aid in keeping down mass uprisings. IMO what's needed is more direct action. Doorstepping manipulators and their support networks, bringing some ugly real world to their sheltere...

but really go for PX7 9 times out of 10 because of the brightness control
Does anybody know if the feedback knob on FM4 does a similar thing to PX7's brightness knob. Sounds like it does!

Re: FM4 in the shop!

Would like to see a CV input for the Feedback knob, Combi I know!

When using algorithms with feedback it acts like an LP filter. Algo 16 with the unison gives you instant DnB reese basslines/leads and supersaw sounds.

@ siln - Hmmm could be. I'll sample it, pitch it down, timestretch, reverse etc see what happens.

Typical layered sounds lovely! Rolands sound designers were peerless back-in-the-day.

@ HepCat - Nope not there as you predicted. Some of those workstation sounds are layered to perfection and difficult to nail down! Here's another I always liked. Resonant bubbles as I call them. Sounds Moog resonant filter to me. Mister Mister - Kyrie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NDjt4FzFWY Sampl...
