Etiquette
Just keep asking questions. Ignore the answers that seem snidey or pompous. I have never really asked questions and regret it. There are no stupid questions but it can be forboding with musos and engineers sometimes imo. Even if it's been in my own mind only.
I try my best, but sometimes, it can hit hard - especially if there's just an empty humiliation.
"Etiquette".
Such a lovely word to say out loud. It sounds like 3 notes played on a harpsichord. One note. Then a lower note. Then a lower note.
Lovely.

Etiquette is also refraining from bothering people with dumb questions.
Etiquette is Google first, ask questions later.
Etiquette is RTFM.
Etiquette is spending at least two days troubleshooting and pulling your hair out before asking for help.
Etiquette is holding back your tears of sadness and self-loathing when you say yes to a doomed marriage.

The internet exists, forums included, so that we don't ahve to spend two days or even two hours shooting or pulling out anything I think.Exowildebeest wrote: ↑28 Mar 2018

I don't mind stupid questions half as much as I mind stupid solutions but that's life I guess. Stupid solutions a lot of the time.

If you want to turn on the filter envelope invert button on subtractor, here's what you need to do:plaamook wrote: ↑29 Mar 2018The internet exists, forums included, so that we don't ahve to spend two days or even two hours shooting or pulling out anything I think.Exowildebeest wrote: ↑28 Mar 2018

I don't mind stupid questions half as much as I mind stupid solutions but that's life I guess. Stupid solutions a lot of the time.
1. Create a combinator with subtractor in it
2. Create a thor
3. In the programmer section, add Source: Pitch Bend, Amount 100, Destination CV Out 1
4. Connect Thor's CV Out 1 to Combinator's CV in 1
5. Basic setting seem ok, so in the programmer, select subtractor and set source as CV in 1, Target: Filer Env Invert, Min: 1, Max: 0
By default, the invert button will be off. All you need to do, is bending the pitch wheel down, and it will turn on. One solution is to hold it with your hand, or tape the pitch wheel down. You can also take your keyboard apart, and take out the spring from the pitch wheel, and permanently turn it down, for a more advanced approach.
On the way? No problem either, just pull the pitch bend down with the mouse and hold it.
Final solution is to automate it in the sequencer.
Pretty clever, huh? ^^
Let's see if we can make it any more inefficient, difficult, and complicated! (You'd be surprised how much a joke tutorial can actually help those, who never went into the realm of CV before, for example though.)
Edit:
Bonus! Put the Thor CV out into a Spider CV merger/splitter Split A input, then from the invert output, put it to Split B input, then the invert output to combinator.
Now to turn the CV into audio, then back to CV before going to the combinator!

I'll pass blaming Reason about it's sound, as I got a bit of my mental health back. I love Reason again, to the fullest now. This software is a master-piece already now + I surely admire already now, where we can take it with the hard working Swedes.
PS: Lots of good stuff here, on the forums.
Nice read here inside this forums too. I can't timetravel back to always be nice, but .. at least I know when it's time to say, I'm sorry too, when needed. I love beer.

Oh, Normen the mastering guy! He's just 1 person though, not the center of the world.
But it's just you who blames this post on him. I'd appreciate if you wouldn't start poisoning people against each-other.
Don‘t want to make this about me but shots have been fired so.. Seriously, if anyone has an issue with what I said please quote the exact thing and tell me. I can‘t help you deal with what you make up in your mind about what my „intended message“ might be though. Ever considered that it‘s just information made available to you? If I was to skim through my post history I am sure I will find many occasions where I have been called things like „asshole“ or „condescending“ but I dare you to find any comments I make about other people. So yeah, not that this is new to me - I‘d worry if I had no friends or if people could actually point me to how I am an „asshole“ but as of now I‘ll stick to my ways ;P
Otherwise, maybe consider this video, I don‘t think theres a situation where somebody telling you that you might be wrong could be bad - unless you make it so
(Edit: And NO, that video title doesn‘t imply „normen thinks we‘re all incompetent“ for fucks sake )

This is turning to a different road. Even if 1 troll wants it to be about you, it still won't be. Though, they already achieved something, so congrats to them.normen wrote: ↑02 Apr 2018Don‘t want to make this about me but shots have been fired so.. Even if it‘s just him being worried it‘s worth clearing that up right? And that video is very relevant to the original post imo, I wouldn‘t have posted if I only felt like I had to „defend myself“ or anything. This post is about how one can be wrong and how to deal with that on both sides right?
