I feel like there are so many synths out there, in both the RE- and VST world (Let's stick to those for now). I have no real grasp of what people use the most anymore. Probably looks very different for everyone, but it would be interesting to see if there is any sort of trend or if some synths are clearly more popular here at RT.

If we're talking REs, my guess is that synths like Viking-2, Legend, Expanse, Europa, Grain, Complex-1, will come up more frequently in the comments, but that's only a guess.
Many RE synths don't get talked about much nowadays. Predator, Antidote, Proton, kHs ONE, just to name a few. So many synths seem to be forgotten. But maybe people still use their older synths too and they just don't talk about it?

So what synths get the most use from you nowadays?

Thx, for this is a very interesting question imho.

My instrument list shows 39 pure synths, no organs, drum machines or samplers, etc... mentioned.

My every day use :

1. Europa (by far)
2. Nostromo (for randomizing fun)
3. B.I.T (because of nostalgia)
4. The Legend (because of its sound)

PS:
I remember the day I thought I will never need another synth in my life.....being more than naive....think I am a SynthAddict...

PPS:
So I made a demo track with devices I normally never use...

My go to synths are usually Antidote, Europa or Thor with a bit of Grain thrown in.

I have probably too many synths.

Today i rarely touch Rob Papen stuff because i always find a bug and h gibt want u to wait for a fix or get kicked out of my flow. Sad.

Europa is probably my most used synth. It's quick and easy for some testing. For real sound design i target synths providing the results i am looking for, which means analog sound, weird sounds, metallic, warm, pads and so on.

Probably mostly use Europa, Grain, Phase Plant, Dune3.

My last finished track was mostly sample based, but used Europa for the bass. There's also a malstrom buried in the mix somewhere.

Skimmed through my last 15 songs (tracks written in the last 9 months) on Soundcloud and made a rough estimate.
These 4 were used the most:

Scenic
Legend
Expanse
Europa

And after them:

FM4
Complex-1
Oberon
Noise Engineering synths

Ivoks is cool. Simple but nice. That's another one of those synths I haven't used enough.
Have you tried Red70? Sound wise I actually tend to prefer it over Ivoks.

Expanse or maybe Thor come first. But I also have a "2nd choice" on rotation so I can get to know other synths. Currently spending time with MonoTone to see where I can fit it in to my typical workflow.

Probably Polysix, Antidote, Repro 1/5, The Legend, Obsession (now), TAL-UNO-LX, Expanse.

They all sound fantastic, warm and vintage, and they are all easy to program.

I have Dune 3 which is a powerhouse, but I still find myself reaching for Antidote. I'm not sure why!
