hello,

been listening to this song on loop for the last 4 hours
editing movie scenes about a friend of mine
who is telling me stories about his !$%^%$#!#$ up life

this song is when he was a boy
watching his mom get beat up by the step dad
his younger sister was in the car, too

the song is very cool
the video is trippy
happy fourth of july

concert video
i think i learned of london grammar from this forum
could be right
could be wrong

cheers and don't blow yourself up,

Dark Side of Your Mom
I'm old but hear me out,
Mid seventies, you couldn't just hit a keyboard key and have the tape delay be in sync.
The transitions between songs
These lads worked for their dinner...
Sure mega sales and superwealth, but that came afters.
Astounding piece of teamwork, certainly not excluding Alan Parsons

hello,

@vlad the thread ripper

when i was around 12
my mom worked as an accountant for the local theater
in abq, nm
popejoy hall

the ticket booth window guy
used the closet to keep his 2 parrots
crazy but coolcool

my brother and i got free tickets to everything
brother rob even got to work behind the scenes when 'grease' pulled through
i got to sit on stage as part of the 'audience' for godspell

the best show ever
was an early 1980's laser light show
of pink floyd's dark side of the moon and other songs

was a mind altering experience

then when i was older
i watched national geographic show
about how a baby was conceived
while listening to pinkfloyd wish you were here album
and shine on you crazy diamond mixed with the babymaking thing
was like you weren't looking at humans anymore
but you were in outerspace
microcosm / macrocosm

really neat shit,

jcheers

@littlejam
I also attended planetarium shows at a young age.
I wonder what music they played, Dark Side wasn't in existence at the time,
maybe earlier Floyd?
Court of the Crimson King definitely too harsh

Probably classical music. Planetariums had not yet caught up with their stoner audience.

hello,

it was 'dark side of the moon'
(maybe got the years wrong)

wasn't in a planetarium
it was a theatrical theater
they projected different color lasers
onto a big ass movie screen

early Floyd is wickedcool

at around 30
i went back to abq
hanging out with friends til sunrise
we listened to darkside of the moon
blasting from his living room
while sitting on the roof of his house

we played tennis ball golf soccer
until the neighbors called the police
so we went back inside

getting hit in the shin / knee sucks
nobody got hit in the head
so that's cool

then there was croquet and lawn darts at my dad's place
when he went away for a business trip

my older brother would have wicked parties when my dad would travel

cheers,

j

A fantastic drone noise album from the mid 90s by a wellington band called surface of the earth. Recorded in a community hall not far from where I live, with beautiful acoustics.

Tortoise must have been listening. They brought a lot of found sound into their recordings.

The Knife. Currently "Heartbeats".

Some may recognize the voice from different Artists/Aliases, collaborations and film/game/series soundtracks...

Currently lots of DnB. Metrik, Fred V & Graffix, Etherwood, Camo & Krooked, Netsky, London Elektricity, etc.

But also flipping back to some Trance, too. Above & Beyond, Alpha 9, Super 8 & Tab, Kyau & Albert, Genix...you get the idea.

In either case, mostly melodic/progressive/liquid.

John Hassell and Brian Eno's Fourth World. Not that imressed tbh. Fun fact: when I was in my late teens and had started getting into live underground music, a lot of the people in cene in the the city i lived in who were the generation before me (so born in the early or mid 60s) were massive heroin addicts, and they all loved this kind of shit. And were obsessed with Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra.

Recently discovered Don Cherry. Great stuff!

I'm loving these rap artist medieval remakes.. they've got Dr Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop, Tupac. I actually prefer these songs in their medieval forms!
