I didn't know you could listen to music through a Tesla coil.

That's some really old tech there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma_speaker Problem with those: The (sub) bass sucks a**. :puf_wink:

That's cool. Thanks for the link. I can't help but love, admire and be in complete awe of Nikola Tesla, eccentric as he may have been. I sure would like to know what his fascination was with the number 9; it was certainly more profound (and listenable) than John Lennon's.

Just got home from seeing Mogwai the last night of their tour. Amazing, one of the best shows I've ever been too, and fantasticly mixed as well.
Played some of their early stuff too from young teen and come on die young which was really beautiful.

Going to sleep very happy

Wow, progrock meets synthwave, and by one of my favorite bands. This is so awesome. And as my birthday is coming up, I already know the CD is coming my way :puf_bigsmile:

I've recently gone back to listen to old Marilyn Manson songs. I used to listen to him a lot during my teenage years.
To be honest it's so refreshing to listen to a voice with a lot of life and character and "mistakes". It's such a contrast to how most music is made today. I have a very hard time with modern produced music because of the (imo) overly pitch corrected vocals. It's used even when it isn't needed imo. I don't mind it as a tool in itself, but the way it's typically used in pretty much all modern music I find it makes vocals very bland and lifeless.

This is one of my favorites.

Droooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnne

Just been blissing out to this at max volume while oiling the railings on the deck

Brian Grainger was absolutely killing it in the early 00s, along with his partner in crime David Tagg. This release was originally on cassette and it came with a little bag of sand mixed with pine needles. It was one of those classic cassette releases designed to sound better as the tape degraded (mine was last seen in a box that went missing during a house move, along with a bunch of other great cassettes)

today I have been listening to Molchat Doma. Dark and sad.

И ты покажешь мне, как плачет земля
Грохот грома разорвет нас на части
Там, где будет смерть,
Там же буду и я
Ты за мной не иди
Твое время – сейчас

This, and it's something I've definitely never heard before.

Please, have a mouth full of water (but away from electronics, or expensive equipment). ; )

This is great, i Iove this kind of thing.

Do you know surface of the earth? Extremely well respected nz drone/experimental band who almost never play sadly but are terrific. Got to see them in Dunedin last year at the lines of flight festival.

Wonderful set.

the whole festival was wonderful. I was extremely inspired by these two ladies

who I hung out with while the dead c did their vapid, run out of ideas in 2001, free noise grand dad ego fest thing. And had a much better time.
Also, Roy Montgomery who did a beautiful set.

This video doesn't have the whole thing but you can find a recording on here -
https://dunedinsound.com/gigs/lines-of- ... 23-show-3/
(although you can see the back of my head at the end of the video.) Hard to describe the deep emotions in the room while he was playing.

you can videos of the whole thing here.

I'm probably on it somewhere standing in the back, drinking.

For you who appreciate symphonic/melodic metal, from the land of a thousand lakes, Finland:

Wintersun has finally announced their somewhat delayed Time II is available for pre-order, it comes in a package with other stuff.

Here's a teaser for the Other Stuff: An album with resurrected & polished early demos from an ancient time where peoples minds weren't consumed by mobile phones & social media:

And some more teasers from Time II & the package:

Acoustic version of a track from the package:

This guy is incredible... and that instrument is too. I noticed he is only playing the black keys because he's got that whammy bar to make adjustments.

This is a band I've seen all over my youtube feed (busking shorts) the past year. Incredible band. That drummer is nuts. Great funky bassist and funky guitar. They are currently on tour in the US. I'm so sad that I missed them in my home town. They were there about a week ago, but I live in Vietnam and won't be back to the US until June. So I totally missed the chance to see them live. Band name: High Fade

John Bender. A lo fi electronic guy who released a few albums and cassettes in the early 80s. Really interesting stuff, quite rugged and minimal and all the better for it.
