I'm a dark roaster myself (even have my own little bean roasting machine!), and get an espresso blend from Mr Green Beans in Portland OR. Darker roasts have less acid, which I use as an excuse to drink more coffee.
While in NYC (where I'm currently staying) I've enjoyed many different brands including, Sumptown Roasters, Fika, Kava, Blue Bottle, Ground Support, and other local blends (PLENTY of coffee options here, with many more on my "to do" list!).

Dunkin donuts
That stuff is awful. That's this area's latest troll, like krispy kremes was 15 years ago (though they actually are pretty good)
Still usually just get starbucks house. Keep threatening to get one of those "grid in place/cup at a time" machines but just get too bogged down in which one/price/etc and say forget it.
Used to be a coffee snob, don't really care too much anymore.

I've been told I use more creamer than coffee.

What about brewing methods?
Currently exploring siphon brew, aka the "science lab" coffee maker. Also have a more traditional espresso machine. I have a friend that swears by the plunger method, and next on my list is a cold brew maker. There's always the single cup drip method for you I don't need a whole pot (which is almost NEVER).

for years peoples sayed it was the classic italien that was the best , tryed it in cuba and I could not sleep all night wich was awesome .
I dont like cold brew because even if the coffe is roasted bacterias can grow in it after and pot got to be really clean also .
then there is the turkish coffe wich is almost solid LOL , that is épic and almost too strong
I like the expresso machines with pressure , really good to extract coffe flavors .
now experts start to say that if you add énougth of coffe in one of these classic single cup filters the coffe is the best
wich is pretty right IMHO
some peoples like them long and creamy and some just with a hint of mouss from the pressure extraction , I like them black with spirits and sweeteners or long with no shugar and a hint of milk , I also like then iced in summer .
if I could only have one coffe maker I would use the one on the last pic .
It does not die , it multiplies !

Those beans that they get from the ass of a cat sound pretty rad
I've given up coffee. Took me about two years to kick it properly, but I'm coming up on 6 months totally caffeine free. The difference is astonishing. Join me, brothers

Here's my simple hand pump espresso machine... coffee (Lavazza red label brand usually) in the handled vessel... water in the top... raise the handles, push down to force the water through (like steam pressure) and ... lovely quick, simple coffee.

Looking at the rest of this thread I'm thinking your bid to create a coffee free cult here is likely a lost cause...dvdrtldg wrote:

I didn't look at prices, just grabbed the pic. I got mine off a gadget website around 2008 and paid about £40 I think. It's a little creaky now and needs more pumps as the seal has degraded but other than that its been a proper workhorse. I like it.
Ha! I had to look it up so I'm sorry to disappoint ... I'm more of an ignoramus with access to Googlemotuscott wrote:Tincture, RE your Archimedes quote,
I have long suspected you are an autodidact classicist. Prove me wrong.
