Hi,
Some time ago I watched on propellerhead video screen of audio preferences in reason and there was about two times less latency (ms) than on my audio interface with the same 128 samples buffer size. Can there be such large differences between the interfaces?
I have Motu Track16 on firewire and 128 samples buffer generates 6ms output latency and 5ms input latency, with sample rate 44,1kHz.
What is Your latency with 128 samples buffer size and 44,1khz sample rate ?
Your audio interface latency
It was for this very reason I upgraded my interface from an older Motu 828mk3 to the Motu 828es.
At 44.1k and 128 samples, Reason shows 4ms input latency and 3ms output latency.
At 96k and 128 samples, Reason shows 2ms input latency and 1ms output latency.
I use 44.1k for everything, but sometimes setting it to 96k for tracking--just for the latency reduction. It's noticeable.

That is huge difference ! Thanks amcjen. I should look for better interface.
It is hard to find specific latency of interfaces so...
Any other users specs and latency time ? At 44,1kHz, 128samples.
C'mon folks ! )

Be aware that whats written in that little box is also not the ultimate truth. It's what the driver reports to the OS. They sometimes report bullshit, like when a USB interface claims to transfer 24 channels I/O with 4ms latency on it's 480MBit bus - right
You can test your real roundtrip latency by using the VMG-01 on an input and output of your hardware interface and connecting those with a real cable. (Edit: Don't forget to turn off 48V phantom power please!)

Seemsthe khz/sec needs adjusting depending on exactly what you intend to do in Reason and how mutch latency you need .Sort of recording audio is differennt the same can be said about sample size. Any trouble and adjusting those 3 variables should ease the pain

512 samples, no problem for playing with a MIDI keyboard

Thanks normen, demt, Ahornberg.
I use VMG-01, it's Yours invention Normen ? I have 484 samples roundtrip latency on my firewire motu with 128 samples buffer and 44,1kHz.
There was no need to turn on phantom power
I will remember option with 3 variables.
512 samples is not that bad, 20 years ago I played midi with 40ms latency.
