It's now possible to copy and paste voices between different instances of Ultrabeat
There's a new option in the Drummer Editor action menu that allows you to change the drummer without also changing the drum kit
Alternatives can now be exported as fully independent projects
There's now a button in the Main window to automatically set the vertical zoom to the optimal resolution to maximize track height while keeping all tracks visible
A new Region parameter allows the playback speed of Apple Loops to be altered from â…› to 8x the original speed
Command-clicking an enabled mute or solo button un-mutes or un-solos all channels if no track is muted or soloed, and command-clicking a mute or solo button mutes or solos all tracks
There's now a Kill/Recall Solo button in the track header area that toggles the solo state of all currently soloed tracks
The Reset Channel Strip command now works for multiple selected channel strips in the Mixer
Logic now supports the Bravura score font
There's a new key command for enabling/disabling the Flex or Follow Tempo Region parameter
Logic can now import multichannel interleaved audio files and convert them to individual mono files
When bouncing a project, the default name for the bounced file is now the project name
The Piano Roll now includes an option to display drum names instead of note names when working with Drummer tracks, EXS drum kits or Ultrabeat tracks
Time Handles in the Piano Roll allow time stretching/compression on selected notes

Smart Controls mapped to plug-in parameters are now dimmed when the plug-in is bypassed
User created Groove Templates are now available from the Time Quantize menu in the Piano Roll
When dragging objects, the Tooltip now shows both the bar/beat and time position
The Beat Mapping track now offers a Protect Flex Markers option in the Beat Mapping drop-down menu
The Copy command now copies selected markers in the Marker List window as text
When multiple closed Track Stack regions are glued together, Logic now maintains the individual tracks within the stack

Auto backups of Logic projects are now directly accessible from the Quick Looks view
It's now possible to specify up to 100 automatic backups per alternative in a project
Dragging a movie in the Movie Track now moves in increments of one frame and the Option key can be used to position it in smaller increments
When Logic extracts audio from a movie file, it now creates a time-stamped Broadcast Wave file
When a movie is added that is longer than the current project, the project is now automatically lengthened to accommodate it
A region with movie audio sync can now be defined for a movie file
When exporting audio to a movie, Logic now uses the project sample rate
When exporting audio to a movie, the length of the selected regions now determines the overall length of the newly created movie
The contents of the Bounces folder is now excluded when Cleanup Project is used on a folder project

Downloading now…
Thanks for the heads up!

And I'll move this into the "other software" sub forum so it's easier to find!

The value here is ridiculous. Absolutely RIDICULOUS! And I mean that in the positive sense of the word.

Logic Pro X is truly what got me past my total disappointment phase I experienced after R8 was announced knowing it would be my first time not upgrading.

INSANE VALUE HANDS DOWN!!

This is pretty much jaw dropping for a free update. You know where I am going with that statement so will leave it at that. ;)

I've spent three days with Logic and there is a lot to love. THIS list is pretty amazing. Wow.

I do miss being able to swap around tracks in the mixer, though. And I wish parallel channels were as easy in Logic as they are in Reason. Can't have everything, I suppose.

And when I see stuff like I feel fully justified for not upgrading from R7 to R8.  The Props could learn a thing or two from Apple.

I just wish there was a demo version. I need to make sure it runs ok on my slightly ageing iMac before forking out for it...

? You can move mixer channels around by moving their associated tracks in the sequencer.

For every cool and useful (and obvious) feature in any app, there's usually something unintuitive and non-standard. Logic is certainly proving to be no exception to that rule.

Yea, move mixer channels by dragging the sequencer tracks…makes perfect sense? ;(

Wow this part looks pretty cool:
Retro Synth.
Now you can import any audio file to create custom wavetables using the enhanced wavetable oscillator. Shape and manipulate sounds with full control over oscillator parameters. And stack voices to create your own lush, dense synth sound.
I may just have to upgrade from Logic 9.

Still nostalgic about the old days, writing songs with my Amiga 500, Korg M1, and Ensoniq ASR-10 sampler.

I just experimented with that feature - pretty minimal, unpredictable results, but probably useful if you have patience to keep trying different samples. Hang drum samples work, but didn't sound at all like a hang drum. Percussive samples don't work since it can't detect pitch to find a single cycle.

About the only thing you can do (besides sweep the wave tables) is reverse the order. The number of waves created isn't under your control and you don't "see" anything as you work. And you CAN save your waves - that's 'something'. ;)

Yeah, exactly! Also, add in the fact that I've just started with a Mac again (my last Mac was Mac Classic LOL) and that's a sure fire recipe for frustration. All my muscle memory for keystroke combos is useless. Takes me twice as long to do anything. But... Will get better. Just have to keep keeping on. :)

Hi, i did explain this to you the other day that you could do it via the arrange page track order, or if you are game, setup completely customisable mixers and drag to your hearts content in the environment (albeit with a L9 look there),
Edit: I see Normen has explained the track re arrange feature - I guess you did miss it, my bad!

what's slightly ageing?
My imac is a 2011 one and it runs like a beast (quad 3.4, basically a 2600K in there which is a dated processor now).

If you mean a dual core, it will still run ok!

My friend has a 2010 i5 quad and logic runs great!

No, I saw it, I tried it.. I didn't see it arranging as I expected, which is why, here, I said I'll look at it again. I just didn't mention it in that other thread because I was trying to get some mixing done. :)

Sure looks great!

I will use my logic 9 until I buy new hardware. Been looking at the new mac pro for some time... :)

To you PC guys, Hackintosh is a useful way of testing iOS and logic. Since macs run on intel architecture, u can install iOS on a PC, -but its a bit specific as what circuits are applicable.

Then install bootcamp and you can choose between PC/Mac :-)
