no mention of reason specifically but we all know how the panorama line integrated with individual rack devices, i think this is them taking the next step

i like how spacious the pots and buttons look and that fader is so tall!

I must say that using controller in an environment from today is very complicated. Software has a very quick workflow. I´m very impressed of Kilohearts Snapheap or players from Reason. From the point of a product designer i would have no idea to made a hardware tool for projects with more than 100 Knobs. They failed allmost. Knobporns like the MC 909 or the Radikal technolgies Spectralis try to press a lot of features in a box but reaching their limits.

IMO a big advantage is this function:
...For those wishing to still rely on a mouse alongside the controller, the fader and rotary encoder can automatically be assigned to any DAW or plugin parameter by selecting it with a mouse in the DAW...
So, a mouse over function I think. Right hand with the mouse and left hand with the controller. Thats what I personally need for my workflow.

We don't know that fur sure yet since this unit is still a pre-production model. But I feel your concerns, too. ;)

He said all DAWs they have integration with, so it’s likely Reason is included.

Yeah, Nektar have a decent track record of supporting Reason so it's a bit premature to get upset.
Changing the knob colours to match the effect type looks cool but I wonder how many DAWs that will work with because it must need some custom support at the DAW end above and beyond the usual Mackie stuff.

The problem with all controllers of this type is that the display ends up showing text because it has no way to show the UI of the selected VST/effect/instrument.

It will be interesting to see the price.

What Nektar does do better than everyone else is not use Mackie Control and have deep level DAW integration. But yeah the text thing is unavoidable outside of getting a Slate Raven. I think the thing is muscle memory with this. The problem with the previous Panoramas is all the menu diving to get to things. If they’ve solved that with this then it’ll be a hit for sure.
