Hi all,
Just looking for a bit of advice. I'm planning on buying a laptop to run Reason 11 so I can do stuff on the go.
I have my PC authorized so will have to run the copy on my laptop online but I'm wondering if my red dongle I got years ago would work in windows 11 for times I wont have access to wifi?
Also do you think an Acer Swift running Ryzen 7/16gb/1tb would do me for juice?
Win 11 laptop dongle question?

My Ignition Key still works in Win 11. It takes it a few "there is no ignition key plugged in" messages for it to finally recognize, but it does. I never even use my dongle, but I do like to keep it updated with all my latest RE licenses just in case. Perhaps RS have it listed as incompatible because it isn't supported any more and they don't want the headaches. Who knows. But it seems to be working for me.Aosta wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023Ah pants!turbopage wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023https://help.reasonstudios.com/hc/en-us ... -statement
Ignition key is not compatible with Win11
Thanks for the link
I have to open up Authorizer and keep the Code Meter autostart window open. Then refresh the RS.com page. Might have to do this a few times before RS.com sees it (including ejecting and reinserting the dongle). It seems that I've always had this issue, though, not just because of Win11. I remember it happening in 7, 8 and 10.
My best advice is try it for yourself and see if it works. Would the computer shop let you install Reason? ha ha ha But maybe they have a great return police?
As for the Ryzen 7, it should be plenty of computer for Reason. I upgraded to a Ryzen 5 with 16G Ram and the thing is a beast. I haven't had any Reason projects it couldn't handle.
