I usually only use the back 4-8 inputs on my Scarlett 18i6, using external pres. But I ran out and am now using 1-2 in the front which are mic pres.
When I run line level audio with the gain at zero I can hear the signal at full audio *without* activating monitoring, which messes up all my effects levels. Also it's impossible to hear the track 100% through an effect.
Is there any way to mute this audio, maybe in the Control Software, so I only hear it when I enable monitoring? Thanks!
Scarlett Input / Monitoring Question
Producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist. I make indie pop as Port Streets, 90s/shoegaze as Swooner, and Electro as Yours Mine.
For my 18i20, it is also defaulted to routing inputs 1 & 2 for direct monitoring (bypassing the DAW for low latency monitoring). You can turn that off in the Focusrite Control software.mbfrancis wrote: ↑06 Dec 2023I usually only use the back 4-8 inputs on my Scarlett 18i6, using external pres.
