Interesting! I like the sounds you used...

But here's my question: If you load up a delay, aren't you in fact using it as a looper?
So using a delay as a looper is fine, but using a looper as a looper is not?
Hey, it's your challenge and I think it's quite interesting to try to solve it, technically, but as well with some musical finesse...
;)

The thing about loopers is that you can trigger whatever they "recorded" exactly when you want to. Buffering delays is just one way to do it, it could have utilized matrix sequencers and Neptunes to "bend" melodies into shape.

With a looper you can basically write a full track in parts and use the looper to trigger it all in the end :)

Fair enough! ;)

I was first thinking about using frequencies to separate the different parts... I don't have a satisfactory solution yet...

Ok, was bored (well i couldn't sleep) so made another one, this time i had the idea to do psytrance, its called SubPsy.

I used the 1st oscillator for the kick, the 2nd for the bass and "lead" if you can call it that (its usually how much of a melody is in psy a lot of the time)

The noise osc is for the hats/snare (kind of snare kicks in block 6)

Loads of modulation.. was inspired by the other songs posted. I still didn't cheat by using delay buffers :)

Yes, that's perfectly fine! Just remember, no samples in those devices. The 1 single Subtractor in your project is the only sound generating device. You can use them for CV triggering and automating pattern changes as much as you like :)
what ? can i use thor as sound device or not ?

No, you can't use it as a synth. Only ONE subtractor in your project is allowed. You can use Thor to route the sound through, and take advantage of Thor's filters and general abilities.

If Chemical Brothers used subtractor, and only one subtractor!

Automation on Filter 1 frequency and FM only.

Haha, thanks eauhm! Your piece is impressive too, it sounds like real music and not like a glitchfest as mine.
I can't look into your project file, because i'm hanging on Reason 8.1 (Win32Bit).

My contribution is made with Reason 4 and is in the old .rns format.

I used 1 spider to get the sound in both speakers, else only 1 subtractor with modulations was used. The genre is in the style of bleep, blop.

Download

(It may say even that it is not mixed or mastered, and that it has a few AOCs).

Well.. first i don't think "real music" exists..
Second, i like glitch :P
