Upgrade to reason 8 today and....

I would recommend the following actions:

0) Run a full virus-scan (XysteR's post), depending on the results you might have to perfom additional actions...

1) Install all Windows-Updates (if there are any new available (also use the search for updates-button).
2) Install the latest drivers for your graphics card.
3) Install the latest version of DirectX.
4) Completely uninstall Reason, then clean up all Reason-Folder that might exist after the uninstallation.
5) Install Reason and try staring it.

In the weekend i try to do something.... Thanks again to everybody.
After the 1st mail where they ask me what os i have, Prop doesn't respond anymore. I hope they tell me something too...

props support is shit at the best of times, probably even worse right now, as they are in the final hour of pushing a new product out the door ect

Don't you have a spare harddisk laying around that you could use to reinstall your system to see if that will fix it?

probably they tell me to update, or do the same solutions, but all this time without responding is not good. I understand the moment but customer support for me is the starting point for evaluate a serious company

is obvious that the problem is in your pc, format and do a clean install of windows

never format a pc for an incompatible program, also i never found a problem like this. so before i format or reinstall I WANT a prop responce. there are still 129 good reason (9) for this.....

finally prop responce... we are trying to do something... 1st thing was a couple of workaround batch file . the idea is that there is an asio file that cause the crash. this batch file ignore auto detection....but still doesn't work... I keep you up to date and if we find the solution will post a guide ...

i don't have this file on pc. never install this software. nothing in the registry. what the hell is this???

Update: after sending to Propellerhead the dump files no longer answered. Now I understand that the solution is to format and make a clean install, but I'd like to read that from the company I paid € 129 . Besides the fact that even the version 8 don't work . So I have two non-functioning versions and no real interest to a paying customer that have a problem. Reason is a great program, but this mood for me isn't good. I'm very very sad for this kind of service. I think fo now still using cubase because pulsar and other re doesn't work with r6.5 because the update of license (funny uh?). sorry for this but i think is important for all people are thinking to update. Prepare for a shitty support in case of problem

totally agree, their customer support is pathetic, as a last resort maybe try calling the company direct or at least spam their facebook page with complaints as it forces them to acknowledge your issue (at least sometimes it does?) and it makes them look bad for not giving proper support to people who financially support their business

Why didn't you get Reason 9?
i buyed 8 for free updgrade to 9. and no one work for me.... read the entire thread. is a problem of my system and not of reason. but the point is now bad customer service by prop. and this is a problem for everyone

Finally a solution.... TODAY (yes today....) props tell me that the solution for my problem is to put an empty file named "Reason Use D2D Hardware.prf" in the preferences folder. This file tells Reason to use hardware acceleration when drawing to the display
(which was the default in Reason6.5).

Problem solved.
