I'm in Los Angeles and am getting download speeds of 80-100 kb/s, which translates to 10-13 hours. What do you suggest?

Is there any way US-based users can connect to European servers?

From the direct link, it's not downloading anything. It just fluctuates from to 10 to 17 hours, I've tried a few times.

edit

The download moved to 13 days later

Edit 2

The download auto terminated. The third attempt it's downloading now really slow eta 2 hours.

My download speed for R9 was pretty damn good (got the whole thing sans soundbanks in about 4 minutes). But Authorizer is taking *FOREVER* to download some RE license.

Very slow here, and the download has reset a few times, forcing me to start over. Getting spendy on a metered Internet connection. (Damn the US broadband monopolies!)

I downloaded the version without soundbanks (fast download), installed it, and am letting it grab the rest of the files. MUCH faster and more reliable so far...

EDIT: faster to the tune of 15 minutes vs. 20 hours!

I recommend this approach!

yeah, it looks like the bottleneck is only happening for the version that includes the soundbanks. I had no trouble with the program file minus soundbanks.

I can't try from this computer, but...
eauhm wrote:The host we download from is called cdn.propellerheads.se. This is hosted by edge networks. Check Edge's website to find where your filed are sourced from.
The link above takes me right to the Props site, so I'm guessing, if you follow eauhm's suggestion and go to Edge's site (not sure what the address is), if you find a European host, I imagine you could paste that, log in, go to the download page, and download from there.

Just guessing though...

Well try #4 is giving me download speeds of 160kb/s, so that's a marginal improvement.

On my side everything was fine. Full speed at 54MBit. Also autorization was quick. But some friends wait pretty long for complete authorization.

I would recommend to relax...

Really no excuse for the slow download speed. Prop's know the servers will be hit hard. Why don't they distribute the load geographically, to speed things up? Leverage Amazon servers to speed things up - do something! 100 MBit capacity here, with an estimated download time over one day. And Prop's purchase page indicates immediate download, up and running in minutes. Very frustrating!

No, thats not how it works.

I could explain the entire thing, primary website, how CDN's cache everything.. where every bit is hosted.. where the authorizer talks to and all that.. but its rather technical :P

Ha, I'm fairly tech-savvy, but network stuff is like kryptonite to my brain.

Ended up using a torrent which works much better. If your primary download speed is on the order of days, you might give the torrent approach a try.

Now I'm down to 113 kb/s. This is super frustrating.

What should I do? I've already downloaded 908mb, but this is slow as s***.
