What features are REALLY necessary for Reason 11
Just a few wishes:
- Update sound quality on older instruments (Europa and Grain are MUCH brighter than Subtractor, Thor, Malström, etc.)
- Scalable graphics on all parts of the interface
- When you click on an instrument It should "pop up" as a large window, so you can see the synths you edit better
- Copy and paste "engine settings" to other engines in Europa
Oh and please change the sustain pedal setting on the Dual Arpeggiato (do it like on the RPG-8, pressing pedal keeps the arpeggio running)

If I could have only one thing it would be for MIDI routing between tracks. It is the *one* workflow thing that I really miss when using Reason instead of Live. There are so many cool MIDI generators/instruments out there. I want to dump Live altogether but this is the one feature that makes me hesitate. Please Props!
p.s. yes, I know there are ways to route MIDI out and back in to Reason (Jack, IAC Bus) but none of them are as elegant and reliable as having it in the app natively.

Nice wishlist that I 100%ly agree with.PelTek wrote: ↑05 Jul 20181) Better automation more like PT, using dots is to say the least outdated
2) Crossfades and auto crossfades
3) Trim adjacent clips
4) Context sensitive multi-tool
5) Unified solos and mutes (one solo/mute for mixer and seq)
6) Channel grouping
7) Clip timestamp
8) Audio clips should have start and end boundaries
9) Clip timelock
10) Fade-crossfade curves
11) Note indication on midi values
12) Deleted parts of audio tracks should also be deleted from a session when save and optimize
13) Better VST performance
14) Multi cannel midi for samplers like Kontakt
15) Rex edit in octorex
16) Markers
17) Snap to locator, Song Position Pointer (and markers)
18) Track Freeze
19) Punch in/out
20) Export to MP3,Flac....
21) Ghost lanes
And last but not least, more regular updates!
Additional to that, in Reason 11 I'd like to see a massively overhauled COMBINATOR as well as a function like 'HIDE SELECTED CHANNELS' in the Main Mixer in order to have only those Mixer Channels in (visual) focus that I lay hands on.
Most important Updates for the Live worklflow
GUI with higher resolution
midi data converter like MIDIOX (also with a raw text surface)
updated Track Midi File Export
Track Freeze
Markers
Channel grouping
Redrum Pattern Export
Flac/MP3 Export
Dj Player like Traktor etc. with a own independent bpm clock with sync capabilitie
Different switching mode beetween Blocks and Song mode (disable Block Mode), at least a live Sequencing function, as midi sequencing rack extension, how can load up miditrack files with one button midi file playing.
I understand why there is´nt there right now a especial extensioin like this, cause the midi file export is not given!
Also a Redrum Pattern export to a updated midi format would be nice, that Reason Users could export old Beats and Ideas!

I've posted about this a few times and I'm sure others have done so as well;
Imagine a Softube Trident console, a "Slate" Neve console or "UAD" UAD console. I'm not talking skins here, but full-on modeled emulations which sound and behave like their HW channels/consoles....within reason, from within Reason.
API, Harrison, MCI, Neve, SSL(modeled, not just the skin., Rupert Neve, Focusrite, EMI, Cadac, Neotek, Oram, Amek, Trident, UAD, the list is long of the various consoles that could be modeled...Even boutique ones like Tree Audio, Wunderbar, Tonelux and Daking... The Master sections and the Mic pres, EQs and Dynamics, can all be modeled and added as a choice for the console and might even afford us the opportunity to mix and match channels or at least record with one console and mix with another.
I wonder if there would be a big enough market of us to make this profitable.

This free RE can grab MIDI CV & Gate signals on a track and send it somewhere else:parma wrote: ↑30 Jul 2018If I could have only one thing it would be for MIDI routing between tracks. But I agree - Mix Channels should have MIDI CV & Gate outs

Rack Per Track function. I don't find the current system of all tracks intertwined into one complete mess as it often is now. At least the option to switch views to rack per track and the complete rack for all tracks system would be great.
Bezier curves in the Automation. TBH If they added Bezier curves I'd probably use Reason a lot more.
Midi out support for VSTs, I have a few sequencers such as Kirnu Creame Arpeggiator, would be great if I could output that into another channel.
A better Sampler would also be great. Grain is ok for what it is, but its not a true Sampler as such.
Right now I mainly use Reason 10 as a Rewire slave to either Sutione 4, or Ableton Live 10
adding a far better Combinator and more External Midi assignable controllers to the ridiculos 1 assignable knob.. It's like PH want us to feel like we have so much extra control and then they limit it by 4 knob combinator and 1 knob midi out....

More flexible way to organise VSTs, please! I want to group by effect type, not by the manufacturer.
I'd rather that the option to do both. It's much easier for me by manufacturer when it comes to effects.SimonPieman wrote: ↑31 Jul 2018More flexible way to organise VSTs, please! I want to group by effect type, not by the manufacturer.
+1 to anyone who has suggested improvements to automation. While it can be done with third party tools CV to Automation or a separate CV track that outputs and records CV seems to be an obvious missing item. And more comprehensive automation drawing tools. Dumping current values to automation at the play marker would be very cool to allow morphing between sounds.
Doing some sampling the other day, I realized how much I miss the slice sensitivity slider in Recycle. It would be nice if after recording a busy sample that I didn't have to manually delete a million slices. I think Reason 10 is pretty awesome as is but this would definitely improve many user's work flow.
Got to say, the fact Propellerhead are still flogging Recycle without integrating all its features into Reason really sticks in my craw. I get that there is a market for it as a standalone, but why not just add the fee additional features to Reason?Mr. Watts wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018Doing some sampling the other day, I realized how much I miss the slice sensitivity slider in Recycle. I own thousands of vst effects/instruments and navigating through the menu to find the one I most use can be a bit frustrating.
I would like a “favourites list” that I could add instruments and effects to.
This would save me so much time.

The search feature is cool but I can’t always remember the names of everything I use, so a favourites menu, somewhere I can drag my favourite vst’s would be most appreciated [emoji1303]

Emphasis from meFavorites Lists
“Favorites Lists” provide a way to group and order files that may be physically located at different places on your local drives. Any file that can be loaded in Reason (songs, patches, samples etc.) can be added to a “Favorites List”. Only shortcuts to the files are added - the original files aren’t moved. You can also add devices to the list.
Was getting to that.. thanks!madmacman wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018Quote from the manual (page 394):sinnerfire wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018

Yes, the is! Check out the file/device browser. You can search there and you can create favorite lists. I have a big bunch of lists like Delay, Reverb, EQ, Compressor, CV....aeox wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018There is!sinnerfire wrote: ↑01 Aug 2018

I still would prefer tags, because i have a lot of lists and all need to browse. In normal cases I know statt I want which can be described with 1 or 2 tags...

Not that this is a new thing.
To keep the ball rolling I have a few cheeky questions:
1. Which one/how many of these features exist already on a conceptual design level in a folder at PH HQ?
2. How much time do you think it would take to have all these features implemented?
Thanks for chiming in Mattias
