Yup. I've already gotten waaaaay too used to just being able to chuck my favourite racks into Cubase. I can't go back now.
Do they sound better in Cubase?! :D
I saw a guy on FB claiming there's huge difference  :?
They sound like they do in Reason...but without the Reason Sound.

AYYYYYYYY. No they sound absolutely identical, as you'd imagine.

If they get remote control in the VSTPlugin right then yes. But my hopes are not high. And i save my rant up for tomorrow.

If the only option was the standard price update I would've skipped 11, or wait for a point update.
Reason Studios Suite for me. Great deal for my pocket.

Also Re: Who is buying reason 11 tomorrow, like many others here on R10 as their only DAW there is very little value in updating to R11 so it's a no.
I don't need/want new FX (the chorus sounds nice, sweeper not impressed), the SSl racks are a nice addition (I'm a big fan of the SSL EQ). The tiny amount of sequencer/core updates is disappointing every time a new version comes along but even more so given the direction props are going with the VST rack (which I think is a good move for props if not for me personally) and the announcement video heavily signalling that the DAW side of things is not a priority in the near future. New users > old users and the longer I use reason the thinner that wedge becomes. I don't wanna learn/invest in a new DAW. Props seem to be min/maxing their strengths and weaknesses aggressively, perhaps cynically.

We've discussed this at leangth already, but once you're in other DAW you control Rack VST like any other plugin in that DAW, not with dedicated remote control :)

I'll buy the Suite version. All except one RE would be new for me and at least half of them I would use. I beta-tested Reason 11 and the Reason Rack VST3 Plugin is for me very good, since I now can use Reason plugins in my DAWs (Reaper for studio, and Cantabile for live performing). Both tested fine already. Cantabile has VST3 support in beta testing, but seems to get there in a few days. :)

I have said mark my words and tomorrow you will see if they have done it right (i am talking general remote control not reason specific eg Remote protocol). And by they i dont mean the developers of the DAW or the VST3 spec.

So I have like 5 choruses and a ton of filters and many SSL emulations already. I don't crossfade anything, ever. Curved automation is unexciting. The keys lighting up in the piano roll is like Casio from 20 years ago. Being able to custom zoom track height - lolz. Did these sequencer "enhancements" take like 5 minutes? And you want $129 for this?? I don't think so.

I’m getting suite because I don’t have all the re’s that are included. Otherwise I would be doing just standard. I have been using the beta as well and really love all the new re’s. I’m hoping that the stand alone version and rack version will be separated in the future. I really would like to still be able to purchase re’s for the rack plugin but not have to keep the standalone reason loaded on my machine as I’m no longer using it. I have ported over most of the songs I was working on to ableton. I keep it installed because of a lot of song concepts I created.

Absolutely, might stay up late to get it as soon as available. Getting Suite too!

This year is the first time I'm on the fence, and that's mostly because of money issues. I have to really consider if it's worth it.

So I'll demo Scenic, and if I find it really inspiring, I'll buy Suite.

If not, I'll probably not upgrade at all. I don't need any of the features 11 brings, not really. I don't like the VST workflow, I prefer to work natively in Reason, Live, or possibly Bitwig.

I will buy it when it can be used as an AU within Logic.

I'm really eager for AU also. I can use the VST in Cubase, but on Mac Maschine won't read VST3. Only AU. Which is...an interesting design choice haha. But yeah, using the rack in Maschine is gonna be ridiiiiculous.

I looked at my PayPal account and realised I'd spent over £1500 just on REs. I've bought every version of Reason since the first, although I held back on 10 until 9.5 was no longer supported on Mac because I didn't think 10 offered that much.

I'm kind of "meh" on 11 at the minute. I've bought lots of hardware synths and a massive modular system and the integration with Reason isn't great. I'd also like VST3 support for my Roland Cloud software synths but that's not coming any time soon, so I still have to rely on ReWire and Ableton Live 10, which I don't really understand as a DAW yet.

I'm skint, so I need to spend money wisely, and Reason 11 just isn't a priority.

Lots of varied and interesting comments regarding this and divided opinions (all valid of course). I am just looking at this purchase as a way of getting my re's into a new daw and not that bothered about midi out for players as have other vst alternatives but appreciate this will be an issue for others. It is unlikely I will get further versions of reason unless it makes massive improvements but will still be looking at rack extensions just in case something takes my eye.

I'm still not into it for 129 bucks. I just don't have it laying around.

HOWEVER, there are some workflow improvements that are tasty so if I can do the 30 day trial and see how it goes then maybe I'll have the money by the end of that time.

I don't use other DAW's anymore, so the reason rack thing is of no use to me personally.

Absolutely getting Reason Suite!!! Also look for someone who is deserving, but can't afford to get upgrade and pay it forward. This is a great time to make music, but even a greater time making music with Reason Studio. If you are able, you really should install Take, Figure, and Reason Compact on a mobile device and commit to allowing inspiration to drive your music composition for the next 21-30 days. Wherever you are, whenever it hits you, capture those inspired snippets: environmental, nature, organic, industrial. No limits! Just go with it! I didn't think Propellerhead needed to go down this path, but the Reason Rack as a VST? Ableton Live has finally found its peanut butter for its chocolate!

It’s the perfect end of an incredible week discovering R10 a decade after I left R3, more goodness.
Yesterday I got Drum Sequencer too and my favourite drum vstis (mainly the d16 line and Atlas) are perfectly xoxed.
Now some of this goodness can be loaded in my Reaper too...enough to stay away from direct light for months.

Anyway the absence of Midi Out from racks is quite embarassing, hope the Props will roll up the sleeves, real fast.

Will upgrade to suite at some point soon,i only own Drum sequencer and Polar out of the included REs,so it is a no brainer. Will be suprised if i ever use the stand alone version again as i prefer Ableton's workflow.
A major let down with Reason VST is the lack of midi out, just cannot see how the QNG player is of any use if you can't print the midi in the host sequencer. They never implemented midi out from VST in Reason, so i have zero faith in them making the player REs work correctly in the Rack VST or AU.If it wasn't for the large amount of REs i will gain i also would pass on this update...

This version's definitely a pass for me. I want Reason to be a better host, not to learn another DAW.
When they announced the suite, I trialed all the things I had never tried before, to assess their value.
Complex-1 is great, but can't compete with VCV. Umpfes are pretty useless to me. Layers are terrible romplers I don't imagine using. The two player devices are really nice, but both have a bad case of "sucker retail price", they don't expect anyone to actually buy them for 70 currencies, they're just meant as psychological anchors and to be sold in bundles & sales. And the new "Cinematic" device seems to be two NN-19, a crossfader, and a reverb set to 90% wet and 45 seconds decay.
Everything else I already have (some in Refill rather than RE form). Not much value for me there! But I'm grabbing the player devices once they go on sale for their real intended price.
Cannot agree more on Cinematic, what a ridiculous RE !
