So, I may be reading too much into this but the email I just received from RS announcing the arrival of the AAX version of the Reason Rack Plugin (for ProTools) said:
The AAX version is launching May 5, 2020 and is included in a free update to Reason 11.
That would seem to suggest that there may be other things coming in the same update. Or I might just be being too hopeful.

Anyway, I'm hoping for 6 new synths that I don't understand, a total rework of the DAW, scalable graphics and free beer.

Roll on May!

Now now! Don’t be greedy!
Aax & 6synths & beer is a quite lot to ask.
5new synths sounds more Reason(able) :D

I think Reason has given up on its DAW; even their website states:

Your favorite Reason instruments can now be used in your favorite DAW.

Sad to read really when Reason should be making their DAW your favorite

Nonsense. Their website also has an entire page dedicated to Reason standalone DAW, and a plethora of video content showing users how to use it.

https://www.reasonstudios.com/en/reason ... s-a-studio

The plugin rack was just a brand new feature for 11, so of course they're going to promote the hell out of it.

That's a typo. They meant "Slow Tools", and it's for old people or something IDK... ;)

I think so as well. I guess it's good that Behringer is releasing a free DAW in about a year or so. Quite interested in that. Since it seems Reason Studios isn't interested in making Reason a full-fledged DAW any time soon, I suppose this might be a good and cost-effective alternative(all speculative, of course).

Is this the first time RS has ever pre-announced the date for a point release? They pre-announced 10.3, but were less specific about when it would come out (although the audio engine rewrite was something of a special case).

Here's hoping this May 5 update is the big UI rewrite, although realistically, I think the wait for that will be a bit longer.

Mods, will you please stop altering the title of this thread. This thread is not about the AAX plugin. It's about any other stuff that may come along on May 5th. If you want a thread about the AAX plugin please feel free to start one rather than abusing your powers. Thank you.

No other bigger features will be added in this upcoming update, perhaps a few bugfixes.

That said there are a few free or low cost DAWS now that can be used to host Reason right now.

The fact that they're announcing it almost a month ahead, they probably will be including some other updates. along with it. To my knowledge , never before were we given a definitive date for an update aside from maybe 6.5. That does seem to signify this one will be bigger than a typical bug fix besides AAX.

However, we did just get word from Stefan earlier in this thread:

Totally missed that lol. I think either because he changed his avatar or because it was the shortest post being a dream killing one liner haha. The expectation is understandable though.

I agree but I hope that add at least one enhancement or workflow feature. I don't need anymore instruments.

Also with every big feature there will be a bug fix shortly after (AAX in this case) and I hope that they will add another enhancement or workflow feature then as well. It doesn't have to be anything big but anything that inches towards what us standalone users have been requesting is fine with me.
