It looks good for a gamer laptop.
What kind of computer do you use for reason?
I'm running a 2014 late edition Mac mini custom configuration
Quad Core i5
16GB RAM
1TB HDD
Intel HD
Cost far more that the specs would subjest but that's apple for you, works very well and has done since I got it but would like to upgrade the cpu to 8 cores only you can't with mac. But to be fair if I wanted to upgrade a PC from quad to octa I would be in the same situation, new mother board CPU socket & RAM...
Would maybe be nice to has 2 SSD's one for OS and one for Samples / Applications, but again that's apple, and a PC would be screaming like a batch in this heat so all in all I'm happy with my setup.

I've been using a i7-4790 PC I built a few years ago... It was loaded at the time and still holds really well today. I also use a Lenovo X1 Carbon 6 for travelling. They both run fine for my needs and haven't maxed them out yet... prior to that I used Macbook Pros...
PCs offer more bang for your buck, but after ~5 years away from Mac OS, i honestly can't wait to get back to Apple. My next Desktop will be a either a 6 core Mac Mini or whatever ARM Mac Desktop that comes out, and in a couple years when my Laptop is ready for retirement, I'll likely get a Macbook of some sort...

I just got a Alienware R8 cheap second hand and loving it thus far. I haven't played with it too much or migrated things over from my laptop because I'm waiting on a 4TB SSD EVO to arrive. One thing I like about gaming PC's is they're build for speed. The R8 has a 256gb M.2 ssd so it boots up incredibly fast. I'm thinking of getting a 2tb M.2 ssd to replace the 256gb that's in it now. Alienware software really lets you customize a lot things like I changed the little alien being green to red and the side lights too on the case. Adjusting your setting for your GPU is a breeze without going into the Bios. There's overclock options at the click of a mouse available in the command center that I haven't touched yet and don't even know if you can set it to stay at overclocking or is it just for games. Alienware apps check all your drivers and heath of the computer along with good support from Dell's site. I was able to download the manual which didn't have and see my computer was still under warranty. It's a gaming computer so you know the graphic card is good with three screens slots. Went this route instead of a custom OEM build strictly for manufacture support which is great from Dell/AlienWare. It feels like a custom build with so many options but easy to customize along with manufacturer support.

This is my beasty: A Scan 3XS Audio Workstation, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB DDR4, 500GB M.2 SSD, 1TB M.2 SSD with a RTX2060 Super 8GB graphics card.
It can do everything but boot up quickly.
I got it as my i7 3770 was just too old and I got a (very) early monthly pension that I use to pay a zero percent credit card - so basically it didn't cost me a penny! The joys of getting older

I'm using a custom build based on an intel I7 4790k, it's almost 6 years old and still manages my projects.
Some of them i have to master on a different project but other than that, i can compose and mix in the same project.
I had a problem with the PSU and I'm buying a new one, but other than that this build has been fine!
I also have a microsoft surface, but i rarely use it with reason. I had the idea of using it with reason for live performances but that didn't happen.
I'm trying to wait either for the release of intel's new gen in december or at least for the price of the current gen to drop. If that happens, maybe I'll upgrade it in 2021 Q1. I'm planning to go for something with 8 or 10 core. Lets see what happens.

Intel I7-2600K with 16 gb ram & a 120 gb ssd (remember how expensive they used to be?) for the os and a normal HD for data etc.. .. old desktop build but still runs great for my needs. Obviously, numerous ReSpire etc will halt it in its tracks. It performs better after the Reason update where Reason responds to the sound cards buffer size, so still a useable rig. But old!
still using this one...

I use a mid 2011 Mac mini which now has macOS Catalina thanks to the great patch posted on YouTube so I spent my last investment money on finally upgrading to Logic Pro X. The computer has 8 Gb of ram and I have several sound cards but truly prefer my old Propellerhead Balance. In use since day one it came out. For my use this computer is still a monster. I came here from a PowerMac G5 that I used between 2009-2012 daily for everything. I've got more computers and even a newer PC laptop but I wouldn't trust that one for music and serious work. I've now taken up serious releasing on Spotify & iTunes etc again and I see this computer effectively usable for more years to come. It's got SSD internally and an external USB harddrive. It just works. Extremely low latency and the fan doesn't even start on it unless I render out videos for youtube, mostly using just iMovie. Top recommendation from me, power without the price. Started my computer days on Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k & QL & Atari ST (my first computer really, still used one this very day). I figure that if / since I can use my Atari ST still to this day this Mac will feel modern nearly forever for my use. If you're a serious musican (...with typical musician-type lofi economical resources...) go for a second hand Mac. Never look back. My big issue these days is my $800 monthly apartment rent, kills me...
I upgraded to a massive beast of a computer that just happened to be branded as a gaming PC, and when I didn't see the improvements I was hoping for people on here were quick to point out that "ofcourse it doesn't run it well, it's a gaming PC LOL", despite the fact it had 32GB of RAM, NVMe SSDs, and at that point Intel's flagship CPU i9 CPU - and yes a beefy graphics card. I tried to ask for advice or thoughts on 'why' people thought it was so unsuitable for Reason, but it seemed simply no one could get past the fact it was aimed at 'gaming'.
So I returned it and bought a MacBook Pro (2018). Reason runs pretty poorly once you start adding a few plugins, but at least it's portable (something I was keen to try - and I'm happy I did). I actually don't regret the purchase despite Reason stuttering so much at times I have to re-perform parts because it completely lags for a brief moment.

I should have added: I'm mainly on Presonus Studio One for ~1.5 years now. So for me it's Reason as RRP (Lite) only, either.
I use an i7-8700 with 32GB Ram, dedicated video card and ssd
Works flawlessly for my needs

iM using a basic setup , AMD phenom 2 , 8 gbRam , ESI maya 44 soundcard ,an old HP K5000 graphics card and regular hard drives for the OS and storage.
That's quite a beast you've got there. Shouldn't take more than 10 seconds to boot though.Grumbleweed wrote: ↑01 Aug 2020This is my beasty: A Scan 3XS Audio Workstation, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB DDR4, 500GB M.2 SSD, 1TB M.2 SSD with a RTX2060 Super 8GB graphics card.

Do you use it for gaming or coding (I'm looking at that RTX2060)?
I'm now using an iMac 2015, i5 with 8gb ram and external 1TB external drive. I boot from the external and this speeds this sytem up nicely. I use Balance as my interface and an M-Audio controller. This suits my modest needs perfectly and so far have noticed no issues with it being beefy "enough" for Reason 11. Granted, I'm no power user. Actually, i'm very pleased with how well it's all working.

It takes nearly a minute to boot (Asus X570 MB) - there are comments on the net about slow boot times so rather than fiddle and eff it up I just let it get on with it. It's not what I expected though.
