Splitting an audio signal into 400 channels - Any easy way other than connecting a few hundred Spiders?
OK, for a project I'm working on I need to split a same audio signal into 400 - yes you heard that right - different mix channels. If I ultimately have to, I will go down the route of adding endless Spider Audio Merger & Splitters next to each other and deal with all that cable clutter. Does anybody know of a device or a trick to do it more easily? I so hope so
If you can't make a hit with Malstrom, Subtractor and Redrum, you can't make a hit at all.

If Main Mix Channels, surely creating parallel channels can be just as effective?

Id like to hear more about this project, why so many?
^^^ This!
If you're on Mac you can easily map a keyboard shortcut to "Create Parallel Channel" (probably also possible on Windows using 3rd party software), and then hit that key 399 times.
And I'm also curious to know why you need so many channels!

isn't the capability in whatever AI is being used? Obviously computing power is a factor

Yeah! This is much more exciting than Reason+ is
man, that’s gonna get REALLY loud.
yep, I understand it isn’t about clipping, but summing 400 of the same signal...
whatever the case may be, I think it would be wise to turn down the fader before replicating the channel 400 times

Lol I hadn't thought that this would stir up that much attention.
Thanks for the parallel advice, deeplink and selig. That also seems a little more effective CPU-wise. I feel so dumb
Regarding what this is for.. Well it's for a... umm.. secret project of mine. Can't really say For the time being, let's assume it's some sort of an "art project".
In terms of CPU issues, no worries. No two channels in this project are supposed to ever play simultaneously. I only press play when something is in solo mode.
Or if I reaallly have to play them all together - like you know, just out of curiousity, like what's this red button down here that says "do not press" - I make sure my monitors are turned off and headphones are plugged off. I don't want to cause havoc upon the neighborhood
