Got to say I love r8. It just feels like a smoother evolution of the reason that I love. Get people spending cash on what are limited even workflow slowing for some being upset but I just love the path it's taken. Next up they'll finally bring back the quantise button in the sequencer with a strength setting that doesn't involve hitting f8!

Yes, that's the verb slew - but they didn't use it as a verb, it was used as a noun:  
(and yes, I agree with everything else you stated - makes little sense in the big picture, at least from our vantage point)
