Finally!
I can't wait to play around with the new audio to midi!
And I must say, the new 'Player' devices look really nice.
I'm buying this on release!

I'm impressed by the Pitch correct and the apparently small but powerfull improvements in Sequencer/bounce and GUI theme
129 EUR is a fair price IMHO
PS. I'm glad I did not upgrade from Melodyne Essentials that came with Studio One to something more expensive. I'm on R8 and I think I will upgrade to 9 this year when Winter comes and I slow down on Airsoft games

Heh, next salary.. or summer vacation extras. R9 because i dont know how to play chords.
And I am currently on 7.1.1.

3d man.
Superb
I locked earlier threads about the speculation, and stickied this one instead.
8.3 user currently, but I'll upgrade on release for sure.

So...I'd still like to know more about the smaller tweaks as most of my wants would fall into that category, but;
Bounce in place is a big deal. It sounds like such a minor feature but since it's been in Cubase I can't be without it. Would this constitute a type of track freeze as well?
I also noticed that along with the pitch editor there's a slice editor? Maybe it's always been the case but would be great to have a dedicated set of tools for manipulating hit points.
Themes are a welcome addition - I prefer darker interfaces
The new player devices...okay so at one time I think I would've been indifferent to these. But I use Reason a lot for library music work now. And speed is king (especially when you literally have two or three hours to submit a pitch). So anything that's gonna help me build up progressions and harmonies faster and easier is a plus for me. Far from a noob feature I think this will help a lot of working musicians!
It all still hinges on a final list of workflow improvements but given this information I'm already 90% there with this update. Happy to see Reason is alive and well :3

Even though no pdc and a few other editing features i put of on upgrading for.
This version actually seems me worth breaking out the 6.5 license and giving it the revamp it needs .
Will be a worthwhile upgrade on that license for shure
Hopefully it all works as good as seen and has a few surprises left on the back pannels of new devices etc.
All will come to light from the beta feedback here im shure.
Money put by on pending results of the beta phase outcome.

To be fair I don't think I've ever encountered a major bug with a x.0 release. But I might just be lucky. Cubase, on the other hand...oh man. Bought version 8 the day it came out and had no metronome for THREE MONTHS. Had to keep using 7.5!Kategra wrote:I'm sure 9.1 or 9.0x update will come by late July to fix 90% of the bugs that were missed out during the beta testing, so don't expect everything to be pitch-perfect straight after release

I also don't expect major bugs, but small ones that will be fixed, probably very quickly after release.chimp_spanner wrote:To be fair I don't think I've ever encountered a major bug with a x.0 release. Anyway, Propellerhead did put a smile on my face for the last hour
I think it is worhty to upgrade, even though not delay competaion.
I didn't see any example of audio to midi, even though it is in the detail at the website
Look like these new players will kill some RE autoTheory (owned), mercurry, etc...

Bounce in place is a very nice new feature. But I suspect that you still has to delete the midi line/instrument manually to free up the CPU usage after you bounced it. There seems to be no possebility to freeze and unfreeze like in Ableton.chimp_spanner wrote:

A rack device should not use a significant amount of CPU if it's idle, so muting the device MIDI track should be enough for most people.riemac wrote:nice new feature. oK...So wait until August for a 99€ price upgrade!

Signed up for the beta. If I can get them to implement MIDI note listen when nudging notes, and correct position snapping when changing quantize grid - assuming these things aren't already fixed - I will be super happy.
You get it..Reason bugs are never sensational. Props work in an excellent manner as other companies do not work (including Steinberg)
