Hi
I have reason 9
I would like to create a true Arabic scale..
Is there a way to do this with chords and scales? Or would I be better to program the notes in the NN-XT
Has anyone done this ?
Is there a chart of showing what each note should be fine tuned to?
Thanks.....
Create Arabic scale

Scales and Chords has several scales programmed into it, but none of them are the "Arabic," or "Double Harmonic" scale. (The wikipedia says...)
However, Scales and Chords does have a "Custom" setting that you can use to program in whatever scale progression you want. For the Arabic/Double Harmonic, start from the major scale of your choice, and flatten the second and sixth notes.
Just in case pictures would help, I picked A♭ for a start. And here's what the A♭ Maj looks like on Scales & Chords: That scale is A♭-B♭-C-D♭-E♭-F-G-A♭.
To get to the A♭ Arabic scale from there, you need to flatten the second note, the B♭ (making it an A, or technically a B♭♭—and yes, double-flats are a thing in musical notation. So are double-sharps) and the sixth note, the F (making it an E, or technically an F♭).
(Interestingly, there IS a double-flat symbol in the emoji set, but this board can't show it.)
Here's what that A♭ "Custom" (Arabic) scale looks like: That scale is A♭-B♭♭-C-D♭-E♭-F♭-G-A♭. Or for playing purposes, A♭-A-C-D♭-E♭-E-G-A♭.

There's actually two different scales that are commonly referred to as "Arabic scales" - Kurd and Hijaz. I'll make an example of them later. Also, both scales operate with quarter tones, not only semitones

Territans top example is a mix of both, while the bottom is Kurd

Autoarp has the scale included, but unfortunately not available anymore in the shop.
