Yes this has been a problem (bug?) since we got the SSL. Sucks, I wish it would open where it was left.joeyluck wrote:C//AZM wrote:joeyluck wrote:
Do you know if there's a way to save it so that it always opens with the windows assigned to the individual desktops?
I saved a default Reason file with each window on a separate desktop. Except when I open the file, it places all of the windows detached, but on one desktop. So I have to reassign them to the other desktops each time...
Not sure why this is because if I save it with them assigned to different physical displays, it will open with each window on a different display.
Using dual screens on Reason 9
Hello, new here, good to meet.
Just upgraded to 9.2 and this is irritating. On 7 I used to have the windows detached, and on different physical displays in my template song, sequencer on one and mixer and rack on the other. That arrangement would be remembered with each song, but now, as joeyluck says, when re-opened, the windows are detached, but on one desktop. And since the SSL too...
I also went from Lion to El Capitan, so maybe that didn't help.
Any solutions yet? Thanks, cheers!

Try moving the windows using keyboard shortcut. If your MacOS version doesn't support this feature, try with this appmig15 wrote:Hello, new here, good to meet.

Another way is opening the same file on windows i suppose :p
I have two shortcut buttons on my mouse to switch between sequencer and mixer. Rack is always on the other monitor.
My whole production studio is based on Reason, and I use three screens! One for each main window (Mixer, Seq and Rack).
By setting a template, Reason automatically opens with each full screen
It is so advantageous in terms of workflow: everything that is going on is in front of my eyes!

Hi,
Sorry to bring this back from 2016 but does anyone know what version of Reason multi screen support was implemented? I use Reason 6.

I think Record introduced this functionality together with the SSL mixer view. Reason 6.5 could do it for sure. Have a look at the manual on how to do it.Klark Trent wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022Hi,

Thanks to your link for the manual it looks like it is possible but I can't find any detailed info on it in there.
On page 35 it states "This is especially useful if you are using multiple screens with your computer."
But other than that and the same identical sentence on P36 to describe the same for the Rack there doesn't seem to be anything in there. This is odd as I'd imagine if this was the first time it was implemented it would be a well received feature.
I only just learned this was even possible and had no clue it would work on my old faithful edition of Reason.

There should be arrows on the top right hand side of the rack and mixer (can't remember if they were arrows in Reason 6) that detach the windows when you click on them. You then drag the windows to the desired screens.Klark Trent wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022Thanks to your link for the manual it looks like it is possible but I can't find any detailed info on it in there.

Hi mate,
Yeah the arrows are there to separate the rack and mixer and seq. So I just use the standard was I'd use on one screen? There's no magic menu I need or anything?
Ive never used a multiple display before. Maybe all of this is invisible to the end user (bravo) and it just behaves as one big wide screen.
Ill probs have tpo pick up a different GFX card Im guessing? Ideally if this works Id love to have a 3 screen system. One for each window. However I have my monitors (Speakers not screens) set up left and right of my screen. With 3 screens it would be a bit of a neck beaker and Id have the wides stereo image ever ha. Have to put some thought into this.
Pleased I stumbled onto this thread. As I was saying I didnt even know this was a thing.

Reason 2.0. I've been using dual-monitors with Reason since then, anyway (it's just back then, it was the rack on one display and the sequencer on the other).Klark Trent wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022Hi,

Ah cool. Good to know it was implemented so early. Should be down to a fine art by 6.
Will I need a specialist GFX card? Guessing so.

Nice man. And that's for the info.
Im wondering if I need all the screen infront. EG my real world 19" rack isn't right next to my mixer. Thinking how I can save space on my desk. Otherwise my speaker/monitors are gonna be a mile apart ha.
