Rack Extension EQ question
Is there a rack extension that displays the note of the waveform in Reason as of yet? That would allow me to pitch a subtle efficiently??

hey man can you explain what you mean by this? is it like analysing a sample or something and finding what the notes/chords are?BPGeez wrote:Is there a rack extension that displays the note of the waveform in Reason as of yet? That would allow me to pitch a subtle efficiently??

Hey my man, sorry for taking so long. Some equalizers like the one in Ableton Live will also display the note of a particular sound as well as the frequency. By looking at a sound's fundamental (the biggest peak on the left hand side of the frequency spectrum), you can effectively determine the pitch (based on a pitch to frequency chart). Of course this is easiest with single note pitches. I like to use this when determining the key of a sub tone.grizelda wrote:hey man can you explain what you mean by this? is it like analysing a sample or something and finding what the notes/chords are?BPGeez wrote:Is there a rack extension that displays the note of the waveform in Reason as of yet? Well, you actually will find them. You just have to hoover over that frequency to see what note it actually is. And I guess for most applications you could just use Melodyne or the note seek function. I guess the benefit of the first method would be speed, visual feedback and the ability to precisely tune a note until it is "exactly" on a particular frequency. But with 9.5 coming, there shouldn't be any shortages in devices that offer this.
