where do you spend most of your time?
I find I spend the majority of my time in the sequencer and rack windows, and only flip over to the mixer if I need to tweak my sends, do some bussing, etc.
curious about what some of the others find themselves doing.
bonus questions: what style of music do you do, and how does that impact your workflow? I guess I’d say I do post-rock mainly, with a healthy dose of electronic stuff. I do a lot of playing around with the arrangement and trying to come up with weird and interesting sounds in the rack.

You're on the wrong forum
Sequencer, by a long shot!
I do anything electronic! A lot of work in the sequencer with automation, etc.

Rack mostly - one reason is that 3/4 of the times I record my midi with my midi-keyboard in these days.

Rack and sequencer pretty much equally I think.

I spend a lot of time in every screen, but regardless of whether I'm sequencing or mixing I'll always have to come back to the rack for some reason or another. So rack it is.

I love mixing and processing things more than actually writing music to be honest. When they added the spectrum EQ to the rack I had a taste of happiness. Having plugins now is like a whole slice of cheesecake.
Bonus Answer: I like to make techno-oriented music that is really straightforward and I'd say it actually does rely more on processing than other genres.

Sequencer, I guess? Followed closely by the rack and the mixer.
I make house and techno mostly.

Wow! Thanks for the link man.
Does anyone want to buy a Reason license?

I do a TON of processing. I guess post rock is more effects heavy than a lot of rock genres—not really sure though, since I barely know what it even is (people have told me that’s what I do, and I guess I must trust them ).
Yeah I guess context is needed. There can be boring, sterile techno or my preferred techno with an industrial influence.
Rack all the way baby! I do wonder if there is a correlation between users that finish more songs and spend more time in the sequencer working on song structure?
When I do rewire from Live, I still do most of my automations in Reason as it's just so well integrated but I do automate combinator macros from Live, just because I like to be able to launch some automation from session clips. Honestly I tend not to even look too much at Live when things are going well, I'm just recording and launching clips on my launchpad while I'm tweaking that rack

1. Rack
2. Mixer
3. Sequencer
To be honest I'm not a huge fan of the sequencer, imo it's the weakest part of the Reason environment in terms of functionality. Try to modulate most things with CV rather than automation if I possibly can

It all depends on the task at hand - the right tool for the job:
- When writing, recording, arranging: Sequencer
- When mixing, mastering: Rack
- When working on vocals, and sometimes guitar: Comp Editor
- If I did sound design or lots of CV stuff: Rack of course

Sequencer, all day long (literally and figuratively). I write and record darkwave electro songs, so my work in the rack is mostly just creating devices and effects, setting up routing, and right clicking on parameters to create automation lanes. Everything is then composed in the sequencer, and that's the time-consuming part.
For some tracks I end up spending longer than usual in the rack, for example if I'm setting up a complex effects chain or if I've got a stubborn part that won't sit right in the mix and I have to spend longer fiddling with compression, limiting and EQ. But even in these cases, the majority of my time is still spent in the sequencer.

I spend most time in the rack
With the ridiculous amount of money Iv spent in the shop, I make myself pull up the absurd amount of devices that Iv collected
I’m excited for the future, because I do think that one day we will be able to use our RE as vst (that coding video/interview that the props had with juice as my evidence)
But with that being said I hope they continue to add features across the board. Mainly I hope for new SDK features so we can keep with the times and see more advanced tools. But at the same time mixer, sequencer, and workflow is almost equally as important
