Map F5, F6 and F7 to midi controller?

I'm trying to become independent of the computer keyboard. Is there a way to can map function keys F5, F6 and F7 to different pads/buttons on a midi controller?

Unfortunately it's not possible because two softwares can't use the same controller (and the same midi ports) at the same time.
The only solution may come from Reason Studio and a software update

Give it a try, it works, or use something like Midi-OX to see whats going on with your Midi messages. If you try to use the same ports inside Reason, you are right.

Forgot to mention I'm on Mac.
Thanks for inputs. I guess I'll leave this idea until it can be done with a simple right click-> Edit Remote Override Mapping. Some day.
