Similar to this device in Renoise:

https://www.google.com/url?q=https://m. ... aJKpwBHZ_w

So an envelope composed of a series of steps rather than lines/curves which is advanced along the steps every time a note is played. Useful for setting to odd steps and using the output to, for example, introduce polyrhythmic modulation to hihat volume decay, or filter cut offs etc.

Can this be done in Reason?
Huawei Mate book D14, Ryzen 3500U, 8GB RAM, 512GB NVME m.2, NI Komplete Audio 1, Reason 12 w/11 Suite add ons, Renoise Redux & Synthmaster 2.9.9. All work fine for me so far. :reason: :refill: :re:

Use Thor's step sequencer, on Stepped Mode - place the Thor in a Combinator with your other device receiving the notes. Send the CV out of the sequencer to the CV in of whatever parameter you want to control.

Matrix doesn't step upon midi input

Thank you. Are there any RE's that are dedicated to this that you are aware of, rather than shoehorning Thor into the role?

Shaper can easily create stepped shapes, but it can't be advanced manually. It simply runs in sync with the master clock.

And like Thor, Sequences (a Player) and Step (not a Player) can both output stepped CV x2 (plus velocity, note, etc) and can be advanced manually.

That's not shoehorning but the actual intended way to use Thor/Reason. Almost all built-in devices have multiple uses and also function as utility devices for various tasks.

This can be done with Complex-1 as well.

Robotic Bean Sequences is what I use for this. Just put it in 'stepped' mode and it advances with every note trigger, just like Renoise's stepper device (which I also love).

I have bought PSQ recently, I wasn't aware that it could be manually advanced with midi notes along the sequence. I'll have to investigate.
