Interested to know if anyone has a workflow for this type of thing in Reason.
I have Reaper and Logic which support various formats beyond stereo, and
I'm looking beyond stereo, into perhaps ambisonic, 5.1 and
other surround formats but I do most of my composing in Reason and the
default output is stereo but wondering if anyone has a template out there
where you can create stems with movements that would translate well to
expanded channel formats or perhaps advice on best approaches for this.

Fiedler Audio's Dolby Atmos Composer is the only solution for stereo-only DAWs like Reason and it is fantastic. There is an Essentials version which is now free. The setup is simple—you put the Composer plugin in the Master and an instance of the Beam plugin in each channel insert. Then like magic, Reason which is a stereo-only DAW can then mix in Atmos and all the surround formats. You can monitor the binaural mix with headphones and export in an Atmos/surround format and export the binaural mix as well.

Fiedler is also the maker of Spacelab which is my favorite 3D/spatial audio reverb plugin.

This plugin which can be had cheap during their frequent 80+% off sales could also be a good addition for you:

Those sound like great options,
will give them a study.

Thanks so much!
