Hey, anyone else get the Oeksound Soothe 1.3 update?
I have and I now have Reason sputtering and crashing all over the place. Literally, load it up and the DSP meter goes berzerk.

I uninstalled 1.3 and loaded up 1.2 again and it's even worse. Updated iLok too.

They seem like a good bunch over there at oeksound and they're on it already, so waiting for a fix but in the meantime...

If you own soothe, maybe wait on the update and if you've updated already are you getting the same problems?

13" unibody MBP
OSX 10.13.6
16g RAM 2.9GHz i7
Reason 10.2.2

I'll update this post as I hear from them.

I'll say this, it seems to only be Reason that's got the problem.
I'm gonna let props know/ aske their advice on this as I should be able to get the previous version 1.2 working but can't. So we'll see.

In the mean time, anyone have any clever ideas about finding hidden files that might not be found with the uninstaller? Or relevant Reason files that could be deleted?

Thus far I've deleted..
Reason Cache
Plugin images (why not)
Plugin database

Any help with this would be great.
Thanks

Sorry you're having issues with Soothe, and thanks for the heads-up. I just used Soothe 1.3 on a mix yesterday (single instance on the master bus) and didn't have any problems. It was a fairly small project, but contained 5 Kontakt instruments that were pushing Reason's CPU meter pretty hard, plus a few FX plugins and a full mastering chain on the master bus.

I added Soothe at the last minute, and quite frankly, was expecting Reason to start sputtering knowing how CPU-intensive Soothe can be, but much to my surprise everything was fine. Previous versions of Soothe seemed to put a lot of stress on Reason, but so far, 1.3 seems to be much more CPU-friendly. I'm on PC, BTW.

Don't know why you're unable to revert to 1.2. Oeksound recently converted their licensing scheme to iLok. Could it be that your 1.2 license wasn't iLok?
---edit---
Never mind, I just saw in your post that you updated your iLok.

Thanks for your sympathy.
I'm on a Mac though.

iLok doesn't seem to have a version this ir that with it and another ilok update just came through. Nothing.

Real bummer as I'm right in the middle of a project too. And soothe has become pretty indespensible.
Hmmm...

I am running windows (win 7 pro) so my results may not be relevant. I have not experienced any more CPU load on 1.3.

The only time Soothe is really CPU intensive for me is when it is in an oversampling and / or high resolution mode, so you might just double check that it's running no oversampling and 'normal' rez, you probably know this but it's worth mentioning as some presets have oversampling and higher rez modes enabled.

I have checked. Resolution normal and oversampling is off.

Glad to have seen this thread - I'm on a Mac and use Soothe all the time (although not so much in Reason), was all excited when I saw 1.3 had appeared. Will hold off for now

So check this out...

Did a clean install (my favorite feckin past time...) and installed soothe1.2 and you know what? I'm still getting DSP spikes and so on.
Possible iLok problem? There was a recent iLok update too.
I'm lost at sea now. No idea what to do next. I can't see how this is even possible. And I'm in the middle of a project.

Fuck!

Ok so this is confirmed by oeksound and I'm now involved in beta testing a point point update fix for this. I'll post anything useful. Should be pretty fast turn around by the look of it.

Ok so soothe 1.3.1beta is pretty tight. That's before the Reason 10.3 update too so all looks good. I think everyone's clear for the next installment. Over and out
