I was under impression that you are asking about some sort of summing until i realized you are typing wrong sentence right? Under "sum" you mean "some"? If that is your question then the answer is no, whoever told you that is spreading nonsense.

There is no any single plugin from Ableton which can run outside Ableton. All Ableton plugins works only and i mean really only in Ableton.

Rewire and that sort of thing is entirely different topic.

How do we do Ableton summing in Reason? I am interested as well.

Maybe rewire Reason into Ableton and use Ableton's mixer for summing ...

you would think the vst plugs would show... pretty sure mine showed up after a scan
