Who in the hell calls a GUI a "Gooey"?!
Just watched a YouTube video of a guy reviewing a plugin and when referring to the GUI he was calling it a Gooey. He said it over and over again and I was thinking who the hell calls it a Gooey, apart from that guy (gooey) of course? Is that a thing?

Initialism for me here as well. GUI as an acronym sounds gooey.
Very well I must say

Le Figg, look at you, Mr polyglot!
Then…
Shouldn’t UI be pronounced “you-ee”?
(Or should GUI be pronounced “goo-eye” if UI is pronounced “you-eye”???)

I agree that "gooey" is wrong in so many ways lol. First, it sounds silly. Also it's an ''I" pronounced "eye". But then if it's going to be pronounced like a word, why not "gwee"? "Gooey" is like a combo of wanting to make it a word, but not fully committing and still wanting it to be an acronym, but saying the acronym wrong.
Telling me that GUI = gooey is like trying to explain your bad vanity license plate to me because better options were taken

Hahaha. Thanks. Long before I moved to Sweden and learned Swedish I had a girlfriend from Lyon and another from Grenoble. My French was pretty good. When I started learning Swedish though everything just started melting into one big foreign language So much so that when I met a group from Quebec in Falun and tried speaking French it just didn’t work for anyone concerned. I can still watch French films and see that the Swedish subtitles don’t match with what the actors are saying but that’s about it. Guess I was in France for three or four days it’d come back. My girlfriend always looks at me funny when I’m on the phone to my Scottish friends and start speaking Swedish to them without being aware of it .
