Korg modwave vst version
I recently bought the hardware synth and it is incredibly deep - a bit overwhelming actually. The software editor is excellent and I'm finding a great way to get to grips with the various features.
If you have the hardware, it costs USD 49 for this new VST plugin (which also runs standalone). I picked it up yesterday and it sounds exactly the same as the hardware to my ears. Being digital, you'd expect that, but you never know since there is the D/A converter in the synth and the A/D converter in audio interface that both colour the sound...
The Modwave sounds a bit shiny and thin compared to my other synths (4 analog + 2 digital/VA synths) but is much deeper than all of them in sound design/creativity. I think it will be very complementary for arrangements. I just need to have patience in learning the instrument!
I think the Hydrasynth is an amazing synth too, but I picked up the Modwave (2nd hand) for 1/3rd the cost of the Hydrasynth.
