BeatSpace is a new and very cool script for Microtonic! A free holiday gift from Sonic Charge.

Read about it and download it here:

Very nice! MicroTonic is still my favourite drum plugin. I like synthetic percussion sounds, I like the sequencer, programming drums is easy but still deep. Multi outs, drag and drop MIDI, so well designed.

Yeah it's my favorite too! I've been having a blast with BeatSpace.

It's similar in ways to BeatMap, but with BeatSpace you have control over 8 points (8 channels) and it's also affecting the sounds in addition to the rhythms. Now I just open Microtonic and hit the random button.

I've also been having fun making little drawings, which also make some pretty good beats :)

Paste this constellation:
beatspacev1:[233:489|288:92|829:97|558:301|335:345|567:692|877:507|786:353]

yes its nice, but how do you get the notes in the Reason Sequencer lane from the Microtonic and this tool ? Is there a Midifile-export function ?

It updates the Microtonic sounds and patterns in realtime. So you just use the drag and drop MIDI feature located in the top left as you normally do.

uh, thats nice. I didnt know that you can Midi drag and drop in Reason from Microtonic. I have heard overall that Midi to track didnt work in Reason with vst.

It's always worked for me with the plugins that use it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, UJAM beatmakers do this excellent feature. Unfortunately, Playbeat 3 is supposed to but, opens up a new midi lane and loads up an ID8!?

I was hoping to automate BeatSpace script but not available. The only script I can automate is the Mixer script at the mo.. Just referring to the scripts, obviously, one can automate the parameters on the face of the device, no problemo
Still, what an inspiring and unexpected feature for free which genuinely can change a mundane beat to something highly useable really quickly and for this I feel is better than BeatMap although there is far more control in the latter. So, I guess use BeatSpace then stick BeatMap in there.. Ooofff!

A great addition to my favorite drum plugin.

I would love a way to toggle between changing rhythm only or sounds only, so if you had a sound you loved you could toggle it on and only change its rhythm or vice versa, keep the beat, and change sounds only.

And this is... free for Microtonic owners. As all the updates since v1 are.
I bought it in 2008 and it's one of the very rare plugins I haven't regretted to purchase even for one minute.
