Really interesting. Not just the 808 bass but also the CV and combinator programming.

If the CV stuff is no fun for anyone, you can save a LOT of time by using an NN19 or NNXT sampler instead of the Kong for the kick sample, since it's dirt easy to get them to play the same pitch for any note without any CV routing (unless you enjoy that sort of thing, of course!).

It was the pitch bending that got me. That's what i needed to see. I couldn't do it the way i previously could in other daws. It's easy. I just never did it this way. One thing about reason, you never stop learning. Well, I don't

it is very bizarre i do not have any of the 808 sounds in my FSB. i have just redownloaded it from props and also "sync all" with the authorizer... i cannot work it out

IIRC they have added the "Peff 808 ReFill" to their library with Reason 9. I'm away from my laptop atm, but if you are on an older version, then do a Google search for "Peff Kong 808 Refill".

i would like to say THANK YOU very much! that is realy the problem! i had downloaded peff kong 808.rfl quite a while ago but never knew it was supposed to be part of the factory sound bank (i am with r8.3). thank you sir i have imported it now and found the sample from the clip :D :thumbs_up:

Peff's 808 refill is now included in reason 9. You got to download the refill from his website if you're still on 8 or under.

I learned some things about the combinator in this tutorial. But i have no need for the kong.
