Here is an insert fx for precision gain control.
I used it for precise level measurements by matching with inverted signal.
The four rotaries linearly control the gain with increasing detail and summed together.
Rotary 1 unit = 1/127 * [0dB]
Rotary 2 unit = 1/127 * [-42dB]
Rotary 3 unit = 1/127 * [-84dB]
Rotary 4 unit = 1/127 * [-126dB]
The last control is precise only to 15-30 units, because its unit (-168dB) is about 15 times finer than the float32 precision (-144dB).
The gain ratio can be calculated from rotary values.
