I recently worked on something which required a monotonous, flat-pitched, GlaDOS-type of voice talking for a while. I had a 2:20mn vocal recording of a person kind of rapping, which I pitch-edited. At first, I tried to manually move each note to the correct pitch, but it took an awful lot of time because there were quite a number of notes in the file:
I suddenly remembered I could "glue" two notes together by selecting the second one and pressing Backspace. And thought: what if I select everything before hitting Backspace?
So I did, and it works. Select-All:
Backspace (NOT Delete! Backspace is the one above Return):
Flatten the pitch of a long segment in 2 keystrokes and 1 click

...and finally, click-drag downwards on the white handle:
And that's it, flattened in 3 seconds. Up the formant three steps and you've got GlaDOS!

Looks interesting. Please let us hear them. I would like to know how you are using Reason 9 and what you mean by flattening pitch. Thanks

Here it is after I flattened the pitch as described above:

And finally here it is after I repitched some segments to give it the GlaDOS treatment:

(for those who don't know GlaDOS: it's a robotic character from a series of games called "Portal").

That"s cool. Kinda like small wonder's monotone voice. Thanks for sharing.

I just realized you can still have URLs work as links by using the "URL" tag at the top of the big editor... So here they are in a more convenient format:8cros wrote:The last two links do not work:
