Wow! I have way too much crap already! That said, there are some great devices on sale...
It really depends on what you mainly do and what you don't have yet... If you deal with vocals Selig's stuff is definitely a must in my opinion... For guitar stuff the Kuassa amps are not to be missed (I say as a non guitar player... :)) If you are just starting and don't have a lot of REs the Prop rigs are a super fantastic deal... It seems most of the older synths are on sale, so you could get what you want with those as well... Hope this at least helps somewhat! ;)

Absolutely! Even for sequenced guitar, they sound fantastic, and are among the few third-party REs I make use of. In particular, Kuassa Creme goes outstandingly well with the Shreddage refill for creating convincing rock/metal guitar parts in the sequencer.

If you are into sounddesign (and as an addition into LFOs) I recommend the Ammo series.

Thanx a lot for your participation, my idea is to wait a little bit, and then count the occurences of the REs mentioned in the answers.
If a sufficient amount of people answers, it could make the decision easier for all of us.

same general question:

the immediate one that gets me is that most of these have already been on sale this year. the one that hasn't being softube's valley people.

secondly i had a pretty intense occurrence of regret after choosing not to grab the mcdsp compressor bundle and seeing the price jump by over 200% the following day, so I'm pretty tempted by that one as well.

lastly, I've always wanted polar.. i think I'm gonna finally try that one.

oh yeah, and flower audio's 4dyne... hmm.

Unless you are strapped for cash, the Mcdsp bundles are the no brainers of the bunch. Light cpu, extremely useful and maybe not a "whoa omg super crazy" factor, they are so functional as comps in various situations.

Valley People: I don't get this at ALL so far. I realize it's highly specialized but there are strange things going on (like getting a nice sound but the meters being clipped to hell! ) Gain staging seems to be difficult with this one so far.

End of WINTER sale for me, and those in the southern hemisphere. Bring on the summer.

This rig bundles are exceptional value but I cannot bring myself to purchasing items twice, and others are also hesitant. It could have been thought out a bit better , like allowing to remove items and reduce the price, swap REs, or... here's a novel idea... sell REs that we own.

RE-2A is still not on sale :(
And the CA-2A is still $49 from the Cakewalk shop (and it's been that price for at least the past three months)

whats the consensus on predator? Was always tempted on the vst version but had much of it covered in other instruments, but for reason it seems like a great all-arounder

It is fantastic. A must have and a huge steal at this price.
An incredible wealth of very well-made presets. Even if this were just a ReFill, the price would still be unmatched for the value amongst other ReFills. And it's a Rob Papen device, so you can expect great support and updates to the library and the synth.

I am still debating the McDSP EQs... I passed on them last time and was a bit saddened by my choice. But I am now wondering, is the bundle for the EQs truly "worth" it? Do they actually add any warmth or anything special to the signal, or are they all just EQ's with different ranges of preset adjustments (something that could easily be created with other EQs I own)?

I trialled the McDSP EQs and liked them well enough, but only ended up buying the Moo Q because I'd made a track with it that sounded perfect and I didn't want to fuck around with it. But I already have a number of EQ devices - Trident, EVE-MP5, REQ 131, Synapse GQ-7, Synapse VE-3 - and didn't find that the McDSPs added anything particularly amazing to that toolkit, apart from a smaller CPU hit in the case of, say, Trident. The Moo Q is very transparent, the E670 seemed the same, the FRG a bit "peakier".

The real no-brainers for me this time around are the 'That Music Co' RE's.

If you don't own any yet at $9 a pop then get all 3.

I bought T2 ages ago and I didn't 'get it' at the outset but I perservered with it and it became one of my goto's. Since it recently got updated though it's moved up another gear, I see Distort Chain is getting the same kind of overhaul just now and Mr Overdrive is sublime anyway.

I'll tell you if you walked into a music store and bought these babies in stomp box form you'd happily lay out £50 each for them so go get your bad selves some while they're hot.

Any vocalists here should get every single one of Selig Audio's RE's. Still one of the best de-essers around.

Big +1 on the De-esser @ $30, a great tool if you record any vocals. (A little CPU hungry, though - before I upgraded my computer I had to turn them all off when mixing.)

Also Rotor, which is an amazing deal at $15. I happily paid $50 and have received insane value out of it...super usable, warm and earthy presets, and I've been having fun running JPs organ REs through it, too.
Producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist. I make indie pop as Port Streets, 90s/shoegaze as Swooner, and Electro as Yours Mine.
