Space Echo
Because the algorithm creation + RE platform + investment wasn't interesting enough for 1. people to do a port 2. new RE developers to get on the task? And what does this matter if you can load a VST? And why is The Echo not good enough? So many questions!
Surprised at the "we already have one (or two) devices that 'kinda' do that effect, so why do we need more?" arguments when there's like a hundred EQs and Compressors that people still get excited about.
I recently tried out AudioThing's Outer Space VST. It was pretty good.

Isn't propellerheads "The Echo" very similar to Roland's space echo?
It is similar but lacks the Spring Reverb. The RV7000 Spring Reverb sounds very different. Softube's Tube Delay is very good also, but again lacks a reverb and other features.
You tried high feedbacks, wobbling and modulation, maybe also varying speed? Maybe create an external feedback loop, to get some kind of spring or use the Break Outs?
Nevertheless...i just had listened to some audio example and i gonna play around with it ASAP...

All those things can produce nice sounding results. It's more that the Space Echo is a classic bit of gear, comparable to emulating a classic instrument. It has a certain sound and certain limitations and I'm surprised no-one has attempted an emulation in RE format. The Outer Space one is good. The reverb has a certain sound that sounds good without EQing.
Amazing that the ECHO RE is the comparison to ROland's SPACE ECHO RE-201.
I'd love to hear a patch.

I figured the props wouldn’t want to emulate anymore Roland gear, because rebirth and Roland’s new ceo

I have learned my lesson more than once when I was starting out...I love feedback loops, and it's always a safe bet to add a brick wall limiter at the end of the chain when doing experimental stuff, especially if you like dub

I Love the Roland Space Echo!!!
I'm by no means an expert on this device, but I've always enjoyed this particular effect.
I had a Boss RE-20 for a while and thought it sounded pretty good, but I'm sure it pales in comparison with the real deal...
I've tried to emulate this with the Echo, adding reverb via the RV-7000 and I'm pretty happy with the results.
...However, If any developer comes out with a reasonably priced Space Echo clone RE, I'd probably throw my money at it

Jiggery Pokery's Steerpike update looks like it will be good for all sorts of delay & space echo type tomfoolery. He has uploaded a couple of short demos on the new version to his Facebook page. Very cool

Thanks for the JP Steerpike reminder!

Thanks for the tip, I think I will demo it. I'm not in the market for VSTs but I like to see what is out there as it can inspire some Reason based goodness.
