Is that the RE you're using? Write to Inphoniks and they'll fix you up with a VST and then you're good to go again.
Inphonik RX1200 RE (SP-1200 Emulation)
It's the trial.
I'll test it in the Reason standalone, but indeed I'll need the VST plugin if I decide to buy RX1200.
I would say this needs 'correcting'. I think UJAM beatmakers and/or Audio Modern's Playbeat had the same issue but now work as expected.

This is a limitation of the RRP isn't is? Does sampling work on any other RE?
RX1200 RE uses CV for chromatic mode.
See Pg. 28 of the manual.
This Re is massive! sounds pretty cool!
I bought it!
On thing I want to point out which really doesn't have any effect on my usability but I find a bit odd:
The main selling point of this plugin is how faithfully it can reproduce the sound of the original hardware. But even on my shitty work headphones I can hear a pretty big difference in the LP filters when listening to the comparison video (especially LP2). Seems like this plugin is cutting more highs than the hardware does.

Ok, this has been answered in the Youtube comments (glad to see/hear that I'm not the only one who realized it):

I don't see how this would work... Ryan made a filter (or a processing chain - whatever you want to call it) by ear and without testing on multiple sound sources. RX1200 is an actual sampler with more things than a filter going on. We'd be comparing a wheel to a car. And that wheel is from a different car too Perhaps comparing to Inphonik's other filter is somewhat of a possibility. That way we'd at least be comparing wheels.
Well, feel free to completely disagree with me, but imho RX1200 is *not* a sampler (as you can see in the RRP) but mainly a sample playback tool, which adds some grit to arbitrary samples (which were formerly clean). And at the end of the day it doesn't matter which method adds this grit and it's debatable if you really hear the difference in a final fix. So what remains on a plus side for RX1200 is ease of use, well-designed user interface, and a huge sample library. But don't argue with accuracy - as you can see from my screenshot above, Inphonik admits slight deviations.Overtherainbow wrote: ↑30 May 2023I don't see how this would work... Just a heads up that the beatmaking competition has been announced

Chances to win the RX1200 and other REs by Inphonik.

Hey!
Thank you for your warm feedback.
Indeed the bass samples induce a lot of clicking on abrupt retrigs when the polyphony is set to 1.
When developing the audio model, we were concerned about these clicks and did extensive tests against our SP-1200 hardware reference unit. The SP-1200 was even more clicky. So we slightly attenuated the clicks but kept them as the real machine behaved this way.
We feel we'll have to make it smoother, but we won't update the audio model so soon.
So, for now, I guess we will have to assume the low-tech, old-school side of the competition

it's a cool little device, and once you start adding to a beat the clicks are less noticeable, but i guess its all part of the charm and a new skill to learn given the limitations of the original hardware box.willbe wrote: ↑30 May 2023Hey!

the only thing i'm missing is access to the example / demo songs as a Reason 11 user I cant look at how they are created which would definitely be helpful.
I will just have to keep reading the manual.
The only tricks that are worth knowing:
- Use an RPG-8 (with arpeggiator disabled) to control Gate and Pitch CVs for the pads you want to play in chromatic mode
- Use a blank pad set to the same voice as another pad you want to choke.
ah ok that's a very handy tip...
I definitely think anyone trying to trigger the same pad should be routing via the aforementioned device - I will certainty be trying it in the A.M

Call me an idiot (if you really must), but how do you set the voice exclusion on this? I can hear that some presets undoubtedly have this happening, but for the life of me can't see where the option to do this is.

You need to limit the poly and set the 2nd event to the same channel
