RE are still tied down. The great thing about VSTs is I can bring them in any VST compatible DAW making them more valuable. That is why I stopped buying RE. I don't like the rewire workflow. So my RE are stuck in reason while my VSTs aren't allowed in reason.

Now that I can bring my VSTs into reason I'll more then likely start purchasing RE again.
That's a great point I hadn't thought of, even though it appears at first glimpse paradoxical. Looking back, that's exactly what happened to me. I had to learn Digital Performer (Another DAW), so I could enjoy some of these amazing VST instruments. I still used and use Reason, but had kind of slowed down RE shopping proportionally with my time on Reason. Now, that VST will be useable in Reason, REs will be again on an equal footing for my wallet!

Reveal Sounds's ReSpire just dropped in the Prop shop for $189. I think that is the most expensive RE I have seen. Are there others more expensive?

Look at the cost of all of the latest "high-end" RE's that have come out over the last year. or so Almost every single one has come out at slightly higher pricing than the previously:

Respire: $189
Expanse: $149
Zero: $119
Predator: $99

As a matter of fact, going back a few years, the highest priced RE's were Propellerheads own RE's which went for $119. There was some stability at that price range, but over the last year, I have seen the prices rise as you can clearly see above. There were no non-bundles RE's priced at +$189 that I could see before lately.

Now if PH starts selling $200+ VSTs in their marketplace, what do you think the price of new "high-end" RE's will go for? You think the developers will tank their prices to compete? No way! The only way the prices will go down is if people perceive RE's to be of less value within Reason, and I just do not see that happening.
