My opinion is that Propellerhead REASON needs a complete rewrite!
P.S: people should stop saying "No it won't happen" when referring to a complete rewrite of REASON. I have 3 letters for ya....VST

Well, I was about to say that exact same thing.. ;) :D But I prefer direct integration with Reason, so if Spire RE performs on-par with the VST, I may just use the RE instead. I do prefer the dark theme of the VST, though. :S

How about "If i already own the VST, why buy the RE?"? :P I'd expect it to be similarly priced as the VST, so, that's about $189. Which is quite a lot, if you already have the VST, and consider getting the RE or not.

A lot of the times developers are really cool about working out a discount if you already own the product in Re format and want the vst so I would imagine that would work vice versa.
You just need to contact the developer. Or Propellerhead? Idk how it would work actually but I'm sure they can work it out somehow ;)

RE all the way for me ;)

I wonder how Spire VST users might react if the RE is significantly more affordable?

I do as well, and this little beauty just went to the top of my RE wishlist! :puf_bigsmile:

I want to thank Reveal Sound for their effort to port Spire to Reason as a RE and for (hopefully) implementing every feature of the origin VST. And just for this reason I would like to buy ReSpire than Spire VST as a form of appreciation so to speak. Even if the context menu solution is a bit fiddly and laborious to handle compared to the VST.

But for this, two things have to be the prerequisite:

- a patch converter for all the VST soundbanks (like Team Papen did)
- (most important) full use of multicore support

I'm not a technical expert and I've been told that RE can not use multicore support or not well at least. Is that true? If yes, that would be a definitive reason to buy the VST instead... Because I don't want to make any compromises soundwise!

Any clarification on this matter? Thanks in advance!

Yea. Guess its time for multi-licenses where you can have the VST/AU/... at the same time.

I waited too much and I bother too much developers (for maybe a couple of years) for that Rack. I can not help myself from not buying it.
I also learned that it will be possible to convert the commercial libraries patches ( I hope is confirmed ).
Also integration with reason is priceless.

+1000 but for the patch converter but the question "mulitcore support" I think it depends on Reason's Main Application and not from the rack extension itself.

I notice that it's branded "Preview Edition". I wonder if they'll offer buyers of the RE a discount for the VST at some point...?

As for the song challenge: do the songs created with I7 computer get a penalty of being able to run 3 respire tracks simultaniously compared to 2 with I5?

Officially, they are working on a patch converter, so all patches will eventually be compatible with the RE.
