Oh, holy crap! The BACK of the B-3 organ emulator
Posted: 18 Jul 2017
I've been struggling for way too long to find a certain Hammond B-3 sound for a particular piece.
Right off the bat the Jiggery-Pokery B-3 emulator was in the ballpark.
But I just couldn't get the right controlled but crushing sound I wanted. Not all the way, anyway. It wasn't long before I had Pulverizer, another compressor, EQ and a distortion box in the chain trying to get THE sound. But alas......
then I flipped the B-3 around to check a cable and WTF! there's a slew of adjustments on the backside of the thing!
Something called "cabinet damping" got me to the sound I wanted in about 10 minutes.
Note to Jiggery-Pokery B-3 fans: check the back of the thing!
